Cooktop Cracked Glass - UNHAPPY CUSTOMER!

Purchased 30" glass cooktop about 4 years ago coupled with the maintenance plan through Lowe's. While warming up a pot of water (on the eye for about 4 minutes) and heard a POP! The glass literally cracked from left to right all the way across the surface. What a shock! So, I called the Lowe's hotline and after a visit from the warranty repairman it was denied due to "cosmetic" issues. What?? Apparently. I was told they don't honor a cracked glass. I had a Thermador for 20+ years at my previous home and never a problem. Very frustrating!!

I've owned this cooktop for nearly 3 months now and I don't think I have ever regretted a purchase more than with this product. Each heating element has a mind of its own. Boils water quickly but the benefits seem to end there. If all I ever want to do is boil liquid or burn solids this would be my favorite appliance. Once the elements are hot there is no adjustment short of turning it off and starting all over on LOW. Heat a pan up to brown something and then simmer? Nope, it will burn regardless of how low it is set. Cooking on three or four burners at a time? Forget it. If one pan splatters you might as well forget using the other burners lest you want to spend hours scraping debris off the surface of the cooktop. Cleaning has to wait though because it takes hours for the surface to cool enough to attempt cleaning. I can't even imaging if something were to boil over what hat mess would entail. But with all this the biggest issue is still the fact that the burners cannot be adjusted cooler after being hot. They continue to overheat. I had a large pot with a steamer basket steaming artichokes that once the water was bubbling I turned to low and covered. It boiled all the water out on low (I added 2 more cups of water at the 30 minute mark to play it safe). Right now I am making bone broth in a dutch oven on low and the cookware is so hot I can feel the heat lifting the lid through an oven mitt. The broth inside is boiling away. It's like a freaking pressure cooker. There is absolutely no nuance to this cooktop whatsoever. Forget trying to make a Hollandaise in a double boiler on the lowest setting. You'll end up with scrambled eggs. It's pretty, it boils water fast. I absolutely hate it and wish it upon noone else. Waste of $600.

Frankly, my wife was not eager to get a stove top, but because we needed new kitchen appliances, we bought all stainless steel, including the stove top unit. Easy to install, and very easy to use. I know it has to be kept clean daily, but it's not a big chore and it sure looks good!

my cooktop is about 4 years old, so not new.... yesterday I was making soup, using two burners... heard a LOUD crack and the top is totally useless... huge and deep crack from back to front... this same cooktop also cracked when it was only about 3 months olds, a small corner crack.... but basically brand new! I will never buy Frigidaire again.... issues with other appliances as well...

Hate It!!! Poor substitute for my 5 burner Kenmore Elite 30-inch. Large burners should be in the front. Small burner in the front doesn't work. Thought they had discontinued the on/ off heating elements years ago. This is not designed for someone who cooks a lot . .It's designed to look pretty and that's all it's good for!

I modified my kitchen to be Ada compatible and replaced a range with a cooktop and wall oven setup. I was quite pleased with how things turned out especially after I tried the quick boil burner on the cooktop. Fast and hot. Much more responsive than the glass cooktop on our range. So far very pleased with our selection.

Our old cooktop had become cracked and needed replacing. We found this one and having used Frigidaire products int he past, chose this one as the replacement. It has not disappointed. It looks very nice and so far, it seems to produce more even heat than our old cooktop. Very pleased with it.

This cooktop has very nice features, looks nice and the burners are larger than on my last GE cooktop. There's a rapid boil large/small burner along with another large burner and two small burners. My adult son likes the smooth turning of the knobs.
