Great fridge. Incorrect dimensional specification. Poor delivery and installation, until the good guys from Frigidaire arrived.

The refrigerator itself is five stars, so far. Great space organization, operation, lighting and features. We really like it.But I have to deduct points because the published height is almost an inch less than the actual height. As a result, I had to pay a handyman to cut our cupboards to allow the fridge to fit. Delivery/installation. Here's where the problems were. Out of the box, a metal grate on the bottom corner of the rear of the refrigerator slightly was bent. I let that slide, as it didn't seem important. There was important damage because even though our door would have been wide enough to get the unboxed refrigerator in without problem IF the "installers" had left the fridge's handles off until they got the unit into the house. But they didn't, of course. They plowed ahead, forcing the fridge through the door, resulting in a broken front foot of this $2000 appliance, and dents to the freezer door. Oh, and they arbitrarily required that I use the new installation kit that Home Depot forces you to buy. So they merrily attached the new waterline to my recently professionally installed stainless braided waterline, setting up an additional potential leak path.Oh, well. Now I can roll my fridge all around the house without detaching the waterline, if the mood strikes me. So thanks, guys. ??Anyway, I called Frigidaire's customer service. The agent told me I had to send the refrigerator back to the seller, Home Depot in this case. After some back and forth, which shouldn't have been necessary, I was given an appointment with a technician from Frigidaire. And the next day, no less! The tech was great. He ordered a new freezer door and a replacement foot, and parts to correct the sloppy dishwasher installation that the other guys made. The parts arrived promptly and a week later different tech did a wonderful job of making the fridge as good as new.The Frigidaire/Electrolux technicians saved the day. Thanks, gentlemen! You are professionals. My suggestion to Frigidaire, and all major appliance OEM's, is that they take more of a role in the delivery and installation of major appliances. The people the Big Box stores contract for these jobs are hit-or-miss, and as a third-party, they answer neither to the reseller nor to the OEM. Everyone but the faux installers ends up losing if the installation goes bad.And too often, they are little more than a transport service. A bad result, such as in my case, damages the image not just of the reseller, but also that of the manufacturer.I would buy a Frigidaire appliance in future, but from a locally owned dealership, or from a national chain , but I would contract for installation by a good handyman or a professional appliance installer.Don't hesitate to buy this fridge! But beware that it is about 70" inches tall NOT including hinges (mine is, anyway), not the published 68.1 inches and consider my advice about your installation. Get a pro to do it or do it yourself if you are handy. It's not a big deal to get it right. Or it shouldn't be.
