Roomier than side by side.

Our new home had a newer side-by-side that didn't have near the room as our previous top freezer model so we decided to sell the "fancy" one and get a top freezer model. Plus the side-by-side had a door ice/water dispenser that had no way to easily hook up. Love the roominess of this GE.

New Fridge

GE fridge delivered a day ago. The fridge ran for about 12 hrs straight from the time first plugged in. Now it runs at about 25 min intervals. Not sure if that is normal. There is a hum but not overly loud. My only complaint so far is the door needs to be completely swung open to remove shelves or open the bottom drawer. In our case the fridge door swings open next to the wall so I can't remove the shelves unless the fridge is pulled out. This is due to the inside of the fridge walls are not as thick thus causing the shelves to run right into the seal of the door when door is open at 90 degree. Otherwise, the inside is roomy. I would suggest getting bins to hold bagged items to keep from blocking vents on back of freezer.

So far I am very happy with this new fridge. The price was right, it has plenty of space in the freezer and the fridge and I really like that the lunch meat drawer slides from left to right. My hope is that this is a reliable fridge for many years.

I wanted a basic large capacity fridge. No whistles or bells, but you can get an option ice maker. I also love the color/finish that GE calls "Slate". It's great as it doesn't show fingerprints like stainless does.

This was just installed in my garage (not even plugged in yet), I needed freezer space and this refrigerator certainly offers that - 6.68 cubic ft - which is just a little more than the small chest freezer I was looking at, plus I now have extra fridge space too! It's a beautiful color. I'm a female senior and was able to move it easily after it was dropped off, I only had some difficulty using the level feet and was not totally able to get the door to swing shut on their own- would be nice if a crescent type wrench was included to help turn the leveling feet. Only time will tell how it functions with the garage temperature fluctuations, etc. so only giving it 4 stars, mainly due to the difficulty of leveling. Got a GREAT deal on it, so that makes it even better- would not have been able to afford it otherwise.

Plastic cover to the dairy on the door is scratched, but it's not worth it to try to get it replaced on warranty so I'm just going go buy it. Not a happy feeling since I had just started putting everything into the refrigerator before I noticed.

Well it has only been a few months so hard to give a thorough review. But so far so good. I had to order replacement handles due to rough trim edges and they arrived pretty quickly which was great. I do with the drawers were a tad better at sliding in/out. Tend to feel stuck sometimes. Otherwise, price was also great.

I looked around the market for a fridge and freezer that would support a garage installation for an Arizona garage. Not only do they claim it can handle garages up to 110 degrees, it has instructions on what to set the fridge when it gets hot and cold for a garage installation. That is a huge win and this really met all my needs as a garage fridge.

I ordered this refrigerator sight unseen because I wanted to match the dishwasher and stove with the same finish. The refrigerator compartment is shorter that my previous 18 cubic foot refrigerator. Since the shelves are recessed because of the wide door storage, I have to really bend down to put in and take out things, especially on the top shelf. I can see the top of the refrigerator on tiptoes. Wishing there were more options. I'd love to have a bottom freezer, but I don't want to pay the extra money to have one with the pull out drawer, etc.

The only drawback to this refrigerator is a personal preference. I prefer to have the temp controls for the refrig in the back. It's in the way up front & once I adjust the temps I usually don't do it again. Otherwise, this refrigerator is perfect for my needs.
