Poor Use of Interior Space

Very disappointed in this huge purchase. The interior space is wasted with a very strange shelving set up. The freezer is TINY. There wasn't a model in-store to look at, and my previous GE refrigerator was great, so I relied upon the reputation and my own past experience. Never Again Will I buy or recommend this line of appliances.

We are very pleased with our purchase. This refrigerator size works for the two of us, but would be too small for a larger family. I appreciate the easy access of food in the top section, but find that it's harder to keep track of what's in the bottom freezer than I my old top freezer layout. So far the quality and various features seem excellent.

Beautiful and fits like a glove under cabinets above. Love how roomy and convenient the door shelves are, they hold quite a bit. Great for soda, beer, drinks. Also, it has a shelf in main part of fridge that you can fold down and only use half, great if you have some taller items. Another nice feature is that you can easily see what you have when you open the doors. Having a freezer on bottom is nice, too.

We love the fridge overall. Our 2 minor issues are 1) Bins can stick when opening 2) The water dispenser is SLOW, takes two hands and door must be open. If you water is your main want, get it in the outside door. We don't care about the dispenser.

I'm in love with every aspect of this fridge and it's features. It's spacious, without being too bulky like many of the others and the black high gloss stainless steel gives it a mirror effect. the handkes stink

what a nice refrigerator/freezer. the features are very nice. the water filter is so much better than our last refrigerator. However. the way the handles FAIL to attach makes this a huge headaches. we have put enormaous amounts of pressure on teh handles to make them "click" and even when the SORTA click when you grab a handle if you have ANY up or down motion, the handle pops off. what a crappy design. no screws or anything to secure it. tempted to mark it down another star as I type this because it irritates me so.

We needed counter depth and skinny (by today's gargantuan standards!!!) and this fit the bill. It has a great ice maker and, given our garage freezer, we have ample room for all of our needs. Perfect for us but not for everyone. Refrigerator noises are an enigma and ever excused by manufacturer. The noise level, once levelled and stabilized, is at best okay.

GE Fridge review

This was the only unit in black with french doors that would fit. It is a decent refrigerator, but some parts are rather cheap; the drawers especially! We are happy with the ice maker and really like the shape of the cubes. It does not have the volume inside of our previous unit, but this is the best fit we find without having to wait forever. But we did have to wait several weeks for delivery. Time will tell how well it performs.

I'm very pleased with this purchase...roomy, good lighting, doors open separately, keeps food items cold and fresh, really like the freezer on the bottom. Looks classy - good lines! Definitely recommend if looking for a fridge for small spaces and limited door openings. My wall doesn't allow the left door to open completely, however, there is no issue with the drawers opening to access food. Water dispenser on the inside is a plus. Ice maker in the freezer section eliminates lack of item storage in the doors. Very happy with the quality and price!

So far no issues. Only have had it for 1 day. It looks very nice. So far it's quiet. The shelves are not very secure. They hook on one side and just rest on a ledge on the other side. Would be more secure if both sides hooked in a bar. Shelves could also be wider. Lots of room for that. Would hold more. We went to a smaller fridge and we do notice the difference. Making the shelves about 2" wider would have been perfect. Love the small holders on the doors at the bottom. Great for those small jars. Freezer is small. I do like the ice maker in freezer much better it does take up a lot of room though. So I might just shut it off. Love that feature also. Water inside the door works great So I guess so far my only negative is the shelves could lock better to be more secure, and could also be made larger. Lots of room for that. Which would be super helpful in the smaller fridge

poor construction very wobbly drawers and bins

I would not buy this model again. The compressor is always running, wasting energy. The freezer drawer plastic bins don't pull out smoothly or evenly. The plastic drawer bins in the upper area are thin (likely to break) and difficult to pull out. It requires 2 hands and pulling them out slowly from the center of the bin. Also the french doors squeal when opening one door at a time.

Great product, lots of space and love the bottom draw freezer, ice machine. French doors are awesome. Water dispenser isn't the easiest to use given it's location in the interior side wall, but it does it's job. I am definitely buying GE appliances in the future.

We were limited on the size of frig we could buy. Always wanted a french door. This one was so roomy even though we had to be limited on width. Great looking too!

I live in a RV and had a small, RV refrigerator. I can not tell you how great it is to have a full sized refrigerator. I now have to figure out how to organize all the space!! I love it!!!!!

Wonderful Refrigerator

I really love my refrigerator although the freezer is smaller than I expected. I could not get a larger refrigerator because of my door entrance but It looks really nice. I like the alarm feature on the doors, the lighting is very good and the style is nice and modern.

Good Fridge

This appears to be a good fridge, but there are a few things I would tweak regarding its features. Only the fridge temperature is displayed when the doors are opened. In order to see the freezer temperature, the freezer adjustment button must be touched, which immediately starts changing the temperature and it has to be reset to the desired temperature. While the doors close well with a push, they will not close on their own from just gravity, but I believe that is just the nature of French door models as the smaller doors don't have the inertia to close themselves. Still, it would be nice to have them shut automatically. The cold drawer has a little divider in it that slides, but I really don't know why that would be needed and it's a little flimsy in my opinion anyway and will easily come off its track. While is does work well, when it's running it is quite a bit louder than any other fridge I can ever remember having. Not that it has a terrible din, but it just runs loudly. It also has the Turbo Cool feature where it will run to cool the fridge quickly when warm foods have been put in or if the doors have been open for a while. I thought this was a good idea, but when I activated it and it was still in Turbo Cool mode about four hours later I searched the instructions to see how long it stays on. After not finding that information in the instructions, I checked online and it seems the Turbo Cool stays on for eight hours. Eight hours!?!? Really!? Why would it need to be on that long and how is that energy efficient? I could see even an hour, maybe two, but eight seems excessive and I will not be using that feature. After all, the fridge will come on anyway when the internal temperature rises; it just may not cool quite as quickly. Having said all this, it works well and I can recommend it for someone who wants this type of fridge.
