I'm 74 and just got my fridge after waiting 7 months, with lots of confusion between Lowes and GE. It really wasn't clear whether I would live to see it. Anyway, it seems to be ok so far; but I can't get over that GE and Lowes did not even offer a break of some kind after such awful service. I went with GE so the appliances in my house would match in brand, as well as appearance.

I was ready to try a french door style while still staying with a bottom freezer. I love most everything about me new fridge except I think my freezer space is a little less than my old same sized one. Otherwise I am satsified. Another feature that was new to me is the inside water outlet which we like too.

I love the space and depth; it's great for our small family. The look and color is perfect for my kitchen. I bought it specifically for color and size and it's working out well. The only reason for 4 stars is because I feel that the hinges may not be the best quality. I would like them to open more smoothly than they do.

Easy peasy to clean and change temperature in for both refrigerator and freezer section. The freezer section did take some getting used to as the drawer needs to be pulled all the way out to access the bottom compartments (below the ice receptacle) & it was a bit challenging to get the shelves in the right location (we have tall bottles) in the refrigerator section because shelves are limited to one side only. By that I mean, the shelves fit for either the left or the right but are not interchangeable so a "unique" configuration isn't really possible and the shelf that folds back isn't very useful. But looks great and able to adjust temperatures for all the drawers.

Great use of space without the big old ice maker

When we changed out our old side by side fridge for this bottom freezer unit we were concerned about space. This is counter size, no longer squeezing past the fridge but a little taller. We put all our produce into the new fridge and wondered if we had missed something else. We still had lots of fridge space. The freezer being smaller was a little tighter for space BUT without that massive ice maker , which didn't work, we have enough space in a smaller unit. The water dispenser is so out of the way you have to be shown it. So far the best fridge we have ever had controls are easy and the ice maker makes ice at a very good rate. Or turn it off and use it for frozen goods. I like it.

Double doors not a good choice for a small kitchen

Our small kitchen has a small designated space for the refrigerator. We purchased this refrigerator, because it would fit in our kitchen and because it had a bottom freezer (very small and clumsy, we've discovered). Previously we had a refrigerator with a single door. After this refrigerator was installed, we discovered that the French doors can open only 90 degrees and that we have to open both doors to access anything. Also we had to remove the storage boxes on one door so we can access the food in the main body of the refrigerator. This refrigerator holds about half as much food and dishes as our previous refrigerator.....plus we can not use the storage on one door! If you have a small kitchen and a refrigerator confined by cupboards on both sides, do not buy this refrigerator. If considering this refrigerator, open both doors to 90 degrees and stand between the doors to determine if this is what you want to face every time you open your refrigerator. A refrigerator with a single door would have been a better choice for us, but we did not know that at the time of purchase and now we can not return this appliance. I would NOT buy this refrigerator again.

I was originally thinking bigger is better and was planning to buy the bigger model, though after measuring I found out it wouldn't fit in my kitchen. However, I'm very pleased with this smaller model-very effective use of space! It has more than enough room for our family. We love how it looks, too! I love that the filtered water spigot is hidden discretely inside the fridge and I certainly enjoy the ice maker. I would highly recommend this fridge!

This fridge has changed our lives!

We live in an old house with limited space. We had a 10 year old freezer on top refrigerator that was falling apart and failing. Because of supply issues we thought we couldn't get a French door refrigerator that would fit our space but our local appliance store had one on the floor. It is perfect and we love it! It's only 1 cu.ft. larger than our old one but the space is so much more efficient. We can see everything without getting down on the floor to reach what's on the back of the bottom shelf. We're two tall people who love to cook and need efficient tools. It has changed our lives and we absolutely love it. Love the slate color. Now all our appliances are GE in the slate color. Grateful for GE's production of this outstanding product!

Nice features and easy installing

We were looking for a darker metallic look for our fridge and this one fit right in. Also the LED lighting is great for showing everything for easy item location and lots of room. Only negative for us were the door handles, the chrome is too bright for us and getting darker metallic one is a option but only at a extra price of $200.00

So far so good ! It took us awhile to hunt down a matching fridge for our stove due to supply chain issues. Really like being able to see everything and have it within reach. It takes a little while to get used to the freezer and it's slightly smaller than our last one. All and all it seems to be a good product, definitely keeping things colder. We also like the sleek modern design. The dealer was friendly and helpful and didn't rush us to decide. Also had a large selection to choose from.

GE counter depth refrigerator

After waiting a couple month my refrigerator was delivered but would not cool. After 4 days of waiting for the store to respond, I was given a crappy substitute to use. My salesman informed me I would have to wait until March 2022 or longer for the replacement refrigerator or get a full size model. I like the full size GE, but really wanted the one that was countertop depth. We are retired and don't need this big of a refrigerator. I am kicking myself for getting rid of my 16 year old GE profile.

We really wanted a bigger refrigerator but being built in it was hard to find one. I was very surprised at the space in this counter depth. It actually seemed like there was more space than my old one which was the same size. The only thing is the freezer is definitely smaller! But we do have an upright freezer also so it is doable. My husband loves it because he can see everything in it.

Cheaply made, poor design

This refrigerator looks good but has a number of design problems. The interior water dispenser is basically unusable because you can't get your glass underneath adequately to dispense water. The main refrigerator doors don't close easily. Their design makes it so they pop open instead of encouraging a closing feature. This is very annoying. The lower refrigerator compartment is very cheaply made and not of solid construction. I'm sure the icemaker features and interior shelves will likely break soon. I expect nothing but problems with this refrigerator

This refrigerator is not as deep as our other one, making it easier to reach items in the back. More items are stored in the doors, making them easier to reach as well. The shelves seem to be really good quality and I like the shallow drawers. I like that the water and ice are located on the inside as well

In remodeling my kitchen I relocated the fridge from the original lay out, so I was able to get larger fridge. I knew I wanted counter depth and features like ice maker and water dispenser, but not on the door. So far this fridge is so pretty and working well. Being counter depth there is about 5 inches less space in the freezer and it took me awhile to figure out new internal lay out, not an issue. The water dispenser is great, no more buying water, it is a little awkward location to dispense but am sure I will get used to it quick.

A bit small

On the plus side, I like the flexibility for arranging the refrigerator area. French doors are great. However, I have found the vegetable and fruit bins just a bit too shallow. Counter-depth has also made the freezer small, too. I have to be selective with how much I want to freeze.

Smart Features

I was replacing an older fridge that had some space wasting features. In this new refrigerator the cheese\meat drawer is a smart feature that spans the width of the interior and sits above the vegetable drawers, giving twice the space for these items. And because the drawer sits towards the bottom of the refrigerator, more space is available in the upper compartment. Condiments usually take up a majority of shelf space but this refrigerator has deep, adjustable shelves on the inside of the doors. Again freeing up space inside. The French doors take up less space when open making it a good fit for a small or galley kitchen. I would have given this product five stars were it not for the ill designed bottom drawer freezer. Entire freezer consists of plastic drawers, that do not feel stable when opening or closing. Space is limited but if you strategically place food items you can pack in quite a bit of frozen food.

Slate Finish is so much better than stainless!

The slate finish is easy to clean and doesn't streak like the stainless finish. The only things iI would change are: (1) the water spout inside is inset and so close to the wall, it is hard to fill anything larger than a small glass. (2) the freezer drawers do not come out as far as I would like making it hard to remove the ice container and anything large placed in the top drawer.

Although smaller than the fridge it replaced, this GE model is quite roomy. I love the slate finish, which doesn't show the fingerprints like stainless. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that the drawers are flimzy and it will be interesting to see if they hold up over time.

Bought GE counter-depth bottom freezer fridge because layout of house regular top freezers always stuck out in doorway. Will say bottom freezer takes some getting used to & don't think as much space as old top freezer model but def better than French door style. Bought Slate fingerprint resist & love it. Also bought same color gas range -5 burner -4 regular & long oblong in middle for griddle or in my case t be able to shift multi pots around on grated.

Counter size frig

I read the reviews than I forgot they were for this frig and now I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry and need for a frig I would never have bought this one, for the price and quality it does not match, poor quality, hate it don't buy it

Shelving has a border lip which catches on all containers and since its a counter size very limited with sizing, had to resort to smaller containers

Nice look, easy accessibility w/ lower freezer

The GE refrigerator is perfect for our needs. The freezer on the bottom is very convenient because I like that all cold foods are easily accessible at eye level. The slate color is very nice. All in all a very good refrigerator.

It's small and the bottom drawer is one big wide drawer so you have to have both doors open to open the drawer. Plus the color slate doesn't match the GE dishwasher that's supposed to be slate colored

Fridge is Great--Freezer a little small

I love the fridge portion. I love the water dispenser and ice maker. The freezer is a little small, though. I wonder how to fit a frozen pizza in the freezer. I had to make adjustments to fit everything in it from my old freezer, but I wasn't able to do so.

Attractive slate color.

Outside is attractive. Unfortunately I sacrificed ease of use for value and looks. The doors do not pull open easily. The freezer is noisy when you pull it open. The top tray clunks loudly. Same cubic foot size as old top freezer but quite a bit less roomy. Fortunately I kept my old top freezer and use it for back up storage.

Refrigerator is very noisy at times. Shelving arrangement is not good. Good color with no distracting reflections.
