Great stove top except ...

The stove top works very well, looks nice and has no functional issues at all. The dishwasher safe grates are a nice touch! But the knobs .. they are a sad, cheap plastic and replacement knobs cost way too much. Maybe someone other than GE makes good knobs for a good stove top>

Scratched up on the first day with minor use!

We like the stovetop but it is easily scratched up. We had a new backsplash installed and covered it with multiple towels and it looks like a cat had a field day on it. It also scratched even more on the first use. Very disappointed to spend this much money on something so delicate,

Grills are too high and not energy efficient

I would have preferred the grilles to be a bit low. Lot of heat coming out of the burners moves out from the side of the pans and the gas is inefficient. Also the steel surface gets scratched very easily

Purchased this range to replace a similar GE model from 2007. Was worried might not fit but it did exactly! I liked the quality and reliability of our old one, and this one lights up fast and heats very well. Especially like the knobs on the side so kids can't reach them.

Great stove but design could be improved

Great stove. However, it would have been nice if the following was updated (1) The grates be made with better quality material, it seems very light. Not sure if it will break in the future or last very long. I replaced my old GE stove of similar model, which had much heavier and sturdy grate, which is still in good shape from my 9 year cooktop. I have kept them as my backup. (2) The grates near the stove should have a design that can accommodate oval shaped bottom vessels, rather than just flat bottom vessels. Many Asian Indian cooking has vessels that are slightly difficult to sit on these grate tops. (3) The knobs look like stainless steel, but are plastic. Just hope they last. But this is a challenge with mid-lower end stove tops.

This came with a new home purchase and I thought it would be like my standard apartment range but just gas powered. I was so surprised! The surface area is bigger than it looks and I can use multiple large pans at one time without any trouble. The power boil feature is fantastic and all burners are extremely powerful while still maintaining accurate control of heat. Super easy to clean! Love this cooktop!

Terrible! They sent out a defective product that was clearly not inspected before shipping out. I had the product installed and one of the burners was not working. Instead of replacing a brand new unit I have to spend two separate visits at home. One to stay home and wait for a GE repair person to assess the problem and then schedule ANOTHER visit to install a NEW part on a NEW cooktop. TERRIBLE. And good luck getting someone on the phone to help.
