If you do anything, read this fully. I will start by saying that previously I owned a Maytag washer dryer set for 10 years. It worked so well I went with another Maytag set. I was excited for all the new features but this set fatally flawed. 3 months in, my wash cycle would get stuck with 1 min left. Then 5 and then suds error. Wouldn™€™t drain. No consumer access to drain pump filter. Called Maytag and had tech out. No clogs normal lint. 3 months later, same issue. We don™€™t wash more than the typical family if four. No extra lint or items clogging. Upon research I see this is an ongoing issue. I never once had to clean the drain pump filter in my last front load Maytag. Now I have to have a tech come out to take apart the machine every 3 months to be able to wash clothes? After 1 year, that™€™s $300 a visit for an issue that shouldn™€™t be happening but also could be a prevented service with a drain filter access. Also, the automatic suds dispenser will over dispense and trigger suds error or your clothes will come out soapy. Although numerous reports in various forums, Maytag/ whirlpool says it isn™€™t a widespread issue. I™€™m not washing more than most or particularly dirty items. Research yourself. Also, check the 5 star reviews. Interesting that most are incentivized. Maytag needs to come up with a fix or replace this unit. I wanted to love this and am very disappointed to advise others to steer clear of the new washers with no consumer access to drain filter. Hopefully this saves someone else time and a lot of money. Do better Maytag.

This is the WORST washing machine. I have had it for 2 years. It has broken down at least 4 times and still does not work correctly. It leaks on the clean cycle and has since the beginning. There is not a recall. But I can pay a monthly service fee to have a certified repairman out! or I can pay a fixed price of $370 for a certified repairman to come out! This is a trash machine. AVOID Maytag and all of their associated brands!! On top of all of this, I think other machines clean clothes better.

An Appliance That Has Stood The Test Of Time

Maytag is a brand that has survived many generations. I appreciate the large capacity drum and detergent dispenser. The ability to connect to the washer and dryer makes it easier to know when either is done ... no need to find and/or adjust the volume for notification. It's also nice that they have more than just the standard white or silver colors.

Because of the cost of the board plus installation, I decided to buy a new Maytag washer and dryer set. This washer replaced a Maytag we purchased back in October 2024. I was nothing but trouble. Serviceman was her 5 or 6 times and replaced all of the boards and we still had error messages. Thanks to Hawkins & Sons appliance (In Delaware) they finally replaced it. We upgraded to the next higher model... Only thing I would say is the new one has more features and lacks a good instruction manual. Have no idea how to connect the Wi-Fi feature.

Disappointing flaws

Pretty disappointed. Machine cleans well, has some good features, but falls very short on key performance items. Optimal Dispense does work great, though, is not as adjustable as it should be. No factors for water hardness. This machine does NOT perform an extra rinse, it merely adds additional water to the final rinse. Also, some cycles do not perform interim spin between the rinses, which makes rinsing even more inadequate. This machine also takes a very long time to balance loads, and quickly skips interim spins. It is also fairly loud at lower tumble speeds. Also, half of the cycles will fill to a warm temperature when hot is selected. Very big performance flaws that should not occur. I am actually considering returning this machine.

Difficult to operate

The washer is more difficult to use than my previous machine. The automatic soap dispenser will over suds the machine if you stop a load and then restart from the beginning. The push button to start the machine needs to be held for a three second count down before starting. The machine does the washing and spinning portions well.

Poor design

Purchased in early 2025, including dryer. Several things that are very annoying & poor design. The washer detergent tray becomes filthy quickly (shouldn™€™t happen to the degree it has in my experience). I continually have mildew/mold in & around the tray. I only use HE liquid detergent, Tide or All brand. The tray has an awful odor when I clean it. Yes, I use the Affresh cleaner recommended on a monthly basis. I have a water softener. I do all recommended cleaning plus more. I couldn™€™t find any mention of the requirement to do this extensive cleaning. I am unhappy & feel misled. Do not like the 3 second requirement on both machines to begin cycle. Why is it needed? So very annoying! Again, emphasis on the short amount of time I have had the washer. Also, I do have the extended warranty.

Washer is incapable to washing more than one (1) percale sheet in a load, one (1) normal size high quality bath towel, or any other substantial item such as a pair of jeans. It fails to perform. Makes occasional grinding noises. Fabric softener dispenser does not work and gets moldy. Wash times are hours long. Goes into a LOC hissy fit and fails to perform at all far too frequently and it tales a half hour (including closing the electrical breaker for at least 15 minutes) to get the machine to function again.

The soap dispenser was supposedly fixed within a year or two after I got the washer and now for the last six months it has not been working again. Haven't gotten it fixed yet because I am guessing it will cost quite a bit for a new part and labor.

Jumping timer.

Bought 15 months ago. Right away I noticed timer dropping e.g. 55 min- 30-14 within seconds. Told by customer service this was normal as machine was sensing the load. One incident where panel beeped and read it was done but the clothes were still washing. Clothes often soapy or wet no matter which setting I use. I Do not recommend. Not sure how to deal with it because it™€™s not actually broke ™€œyet™€, just not working properly.

Awful service and meh product

Bought this item during Covid because it was all they had in stock, never loved it, but it would do. Saleman told me it was an "industrial" grade washer and had a 10 year warranty. The place where you put the soap is always wet and if you don't keep it open or remove it, the whole laundry room smells like mildew. For months I've had an issue with a loud sound when the water feels, sounds like it's struggling. After waiting 36 mins for someone to pick up at Maytag service, they then did two things which made me hate this washer and Maytag. 1) they try to upsell you with pre-paid service, at more than 1/3 the price of the cost of the washer; 2) I'm west coast, I called starting at 2:30 PT and by the time they picked up they told me service was closed and I had to call back tomorrow. That will never happen, I'd rather buy a new washer. Prior to this I always had Whirlpools and although their shelf life seems to be only 5-7 years, service was no problem. No idea why the same company treats their customers so poorly. A company that sells to all of North America, should have service hours appropriate for all their customers.

My maytag front loader is 3 years old with a sign on the front that states it has a 10 yr warranty! I have had numerous complaints about the detergent dispenser that advertises you can fill it up to the max line and it will use only the amount needed, but this has stopped working for the last month and a half with the appliance tech who I purchased it through couldn't figure out why it stopped working so he ordered some parts hoping that was it. ( I'm wondering that if it doesnt...will i have to pay for them). I thought maytag was the top of the line...now I'm wondering.

Poor perfomance

I originally bought Maytag front load washer in 2017 but Maytag had to replace it with a MHW8630HC model in 2019 because I was already having issues with it. Ever since I've had this washer nothing but issues. Not happy with this purchase at all and the issue that was fixed several times never got fixed. Problems with the soap dispenser not dispensing currently and don't have money to purchase a new one and Maytag won't do anything about it. Don't purchase this model unless you don't want it to last long
