A great dryer with one glaring flaw

First the good: This dryer is quiet incredibly energy efficient dries clothes perfectly and is easy to use and does away with the need for a vent. I am giving the dryer 3 stars because the dryer has one glaring issue that LG refuses to address: The door. Not only does the door have latching issues which too many people have reported on for it to be an unusual problem but the door is not reversible. When I purchased the dryer from Lowes nowhere was it stated that the door is not reversible. When the dryer was installed the door opened the opposite way as the washer causing us to bonk our head a few times. The door looked reversible so I switched it around and realized that the latch wouldnt line up. Then after a long search on the internet I found several people with the same issue. I know for sure that the latch placement makes it impossible to switch but I dont know if the sensors are vertically symmetric so I dont want to modify the latch. LG needs to develop a fix for this because so many people have the same complaint and reversible doors are pretty much the industry standard for washers and dryers. I dont know why LG made this design choice but I suspect it was done despite the inconvenience they knew it would cause the customer. I suspect this because it is not mentioned in the manual or at the point of sale. In addition to a safety/injury issue LG is opening themselves to a class action suit for false advertising by omission. But for LGs intransigence I love this dryer and would gladly give it a 5 star review. Please LG fix this issue for your customers

Amazing Dryer

Purchased this dryer for my condo unit as the building was built before any sort of incorporated duct exhaust system was created to dump the hot air. I absolutely did not want to use a water bucket to catch the lint and hot air so chose this heat pump based dryer instead. It works absolutely fantastic. The drying cycle runs a bit long but its whisper quiet and dries clothes fully. Best dryer Ive ever used.

Does exactly what it should do

We were a little concerned about purchasing this ventless dryer after reading several bad reviews. And we waited a month before we were comfortable submitting a review. We are so glad we were not scared away by those bad reviews. Yes it does take 30-50 longer to complete a cycle but we are not pressed for time and it is just not an issue. We usually select the normal load and medium dry which has always been perfect. The clothes are dry but not crinkly over dry. Yes it cost a little more for this dryer but we are recouping our initial outlay with every load and soon we will be pocketing the extra savings for hopefully years to come.

Best dryer ever. We LOVE it

I have had this for 4 months now and am still totally in love. I truly works like a charm. I love the connected features matches the washing mode on my dryer by default and you can even change the welcome screen and end of load music signal via software updates. I love how little energy it uses and the average drying time is only about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Bonus... its ventless No complaints whatsoever.

Nothing good about product needs lots maintenance

Purchased this product in June 2024 in Oct 2024 it FAILED reported drainage problem:call for repairs. Went onto LG websites webchat they helped me contact repair company to help with problem. Repair company called to set up appt 3 weeks later but did not come only called back to discuss issue decided condenser needs to be replaced placed order for part out-of-stock. Called again with late Dec repair date repairman came just said to connect unit to internet maintain it condenser cleaning monthly. Repairman even said he had not been trained on this machine had never replaced a condenser before that does not give confidence in repairs being done correctly. 10 days later unit still does not always work... condenser cleansing does not work...same error message comes up. We are disgusted with this unit would never recommend anyone purchase it.

Dryer order experience leaving us Hi and Dry

We waited weeks over expected delivery date and then when it comes the door wouldnt close when reversed and back on the truck it went. Now another 3 weeks for a replacement no dryer in our house with no accomodations to expedite our delivery on LGs end. What would you rate such an experience?

I purchased in November and just put in our new condo. I could not wait to get LG again because we had one in Florida and I feel its the best washer and dryer on the market. The appliance store should not be sell your product because they have no idea what theyre selling. They told me that I did not need the drain tube from the dryer and it says right on the front of it do not operate with the drain tube not in place.

The dryer works great its nice and quiet the clothes come out perfectly dry and it doesnt take much power. That being said our door wouldnt close when we first got it from what I understand it was due to a casting flaw in the door hinge. Got a hold of LG and after a month of waiting the repair man showed up put on the new door and it works great now.

Door Wont Close

LG installers dropped off the dryer but didnt peel the tape off the door before leaving. When I try to use the dryer the door pops open 1-2 seconds after closing and wont stay shut. A quick google search reveals that this is a common problem on this model. Incredibly disappointed both with the lack of quality control and the abysmal service during the return process. I wont be buying LG again.

Bought the dryer or looks to be a decent product but mine out of the box didnt work and has a persistent drain error. I contacted the customer service several times as the dryer tells me to and the service is completely useless and difficult. The do not honor their 10 year warranty. Ill never buy a LG product again. Excellent and Efficient Dryer

We have owned this product for three months. It is by far and away the best dryer for drying clothes we have owned over the last 40 years. It uses much less energy about 1/2 and evenly dries every load. My old dryers would frequently dry unevenly. This caused us to put things back in the dryer that were not dry. This never happens with this product. Not having a vent to the outside allowed us to plug the vent. This has reduced the loss of conditioned air in a significant way. This dryer is quieter. It does not come with a rack for sweaters. The optional rack took months after ordering and cost $150. It is only 12 x 14 which is much smaller than others we have owned. Not sure why it was not extended further into the dryer.

EXCELLENT dryer with AWFUL customer support

We purchased this model to pair with our washer and it works excellently. We love it. Reading the other 1-star reviews folks need to understand this is a heat pump model and needs more thorough lint cleaning and drain access. If this is an excellent dryer why would we give this one star? LGs customer service is abysmal. Our first unit shipped without a working pump not a problem: repair or replace the unit. LG decided to send a replacement. Trying to get information on delivery etc. was like pulling out our own teeth. Eventually a replacement unit arrived and we are happy with the dryer... but we still needed to contact customer support: We never received a receipt or information on the extended warranty. A phone call to LG directed us to email the company. We received an auto reply later saying theyre too busy to respond and advised us to call the phone number again. And so you can imagine how much fun it is to go back and forth with this company. At this point weve given up writing to them in English and are now trying Korean to see if theyll break out of this infinite loop. #FingersCrossed Bonus points: The display name I wanted to post this as Frustrated LG customer has already been taken. That speaks volumes doesnt it?

Crossed wires and crossed communication

We had a lot of trouble with the installation of this dryer by the team sent out by Home Depot when they crossed the electrical wires and gave us bad info. Once an outside electrician fixed that the dryer started leaking after each load. It took technicians from Home Depot and LG to confirm the issue before a replacement dryer could be authorized. We are now waiting for the new dryer to arrive. If it comes on schedule it will be a month since we placed the initial order.

Do not order this from LG online web site. It may be great or horrible but we dont know because less than 24 hours after delivery it had an error message that the drain pump is not working. LG wont fix it because they think it may not have been installed incorrectly. LG wont facilitate getting the delivery company to come back out - they leave that up to the customer And the delivery company used by LG - called RXO is a nightmare to deal with The washer and dryer I waited two weeks to get are still not being used a week after arrival with no end in sight Horrible situation that I feel like LG should take charge of and fix. Instead they have taken no responsibility to try and help. What kind of company is this?

Defective condenser door/Poor customer sevice

Ordered directly from LG.com on 7/31/24. Took delivery 8/2/24. Noticed push button door to open and clean condenser on front bottom right corner of dryer did not work a few hours after taking delivery. It was stuck closed. Contacted LG warranty and told them about the problem and customer service representative immediately said it could have been damaged when dryer was transferred from distribution center to delivery company and if that was the case I would have to pay for repairs on a brand new just delivered dryer that was defective out of the box I was left with no choice but to initiated an exchange on an other wise perfectly good dryer over a defective condenser door that probably could have been quickly and easily fixed if a replacement part was available. Only good parts on my LG experience so far was the independent delivery company that delivered and setup my new LG dryer best delivery experience ever and the fact this LG heat pump dryer dries really well. Every other aspect has been horrible. Warranty/customer service experience has been less than good so far.

Great dryer except for the door...

The position of the wash room in our house left us with terrible outside ventilation for the dryer. For years I had been waiting on the right ventless dryer to catch up with the technology. This was it In researching the capacity and dry times we knew it would be longer but better than the clogged ventilation situation was giving us we felt the quality with LG was there. So we took a chance. A few months later we like it but not love it. What keeps us from withholding our love? The door pops open in the middle of the drying session ALL THE TIME. I will tell you that the drying times are way shorter than advertised for the usual ventless dryer we love that. Its usually half the time of whats posted on the dryer screen. But there hasnt been a dryer session yet where I didnt have to stop what I was doing to close the door and resume it. Im hoping that I can work with LG to get this fixed. If I can then I would rate it a double five-star

Heat pump dryer FTW

I bought this dryer in hopes of reducing my energy consumption and it did not disappoint. I cut in half my usage compared to my 15+ year old electric dryer. Im also enjoying the advanced drying modes and smart notification. Its also nice to not worry about lint clogging up an exhaust line and creating a fire hazard.

Really nice dryer and big

7.8 cu. ft. Dual Inverter Heat Pump ventless Electric Dryer with Direct Drive Motor 6 Motion and AI Sensor Dry in White is is a high tech Dryer. It has Wifi set up so you can operate remotely. This function I have not used yet but it could be used if you left before it stopped and then before you get home you can start it to wrinkle free your clothes before you get home to pull them out. Man if they can now only get it to unload and hang up the clothes. Joking beside I find this unit to be very good at this time. We have ran about seven loads through and it dries them very well. It is ventless which I have never had before. It recirculates the heat in dryer to dry clothes. It has not heated up our laundry room which surprised me. Also a surprise was that there is a small hose for letting the water out of the dryer while working. It just drains into the existing washer drain area. Same plug system as my old one so no major electrical work needed. This unit has many settings and you can chose the option feature to change setting to what you want as far as number of cycles and temp or you can just use the preset ones. Also make note that this unit has 3 filters. The main inside filter which you clean after every use it also has a small addition filter inside the main one that will need cleaning every time as well it is not hard. There is one called the outside filter screen which is really on the inside with the main one and it is in the same hole as the main one. Once you pull out the main one you can pull on a small tab and the outside one will come out. The outside one only needs to be cleaned approximately every ten uses. So far a really nice machine and is large enough for all our large loads. I would recommend. I kept trying to find something I did not like about it but cant seam to find anything.

Horrible experience

Some drying cycles do not dry clothes at all. Installers do not know how to install this kind of dryer. Front door is not reversible and I do not see a way to order a opposite oriented door. Leaked on floor alot because of an uncapped extra drain outlet not mentioned at all in the manual. Called several LG phone numbers some would transfer me to numbers that are not LG some would lose connection the online chat finally got someone to fix some of these problems days later.

Amazing dryer and its so energy efficient

I bought this dryer sight unseen because I wanted a large capacity heat pump dryer. Waited over 2 months for it to arrive nobody stocked them at that point. I am amazed with this dryer It uses less than half the energy our 7 year old traditional dryer used. Sometimes its closer to 1/4 of the energy. Its quiet ventless and super easy to use. We use the AI setting for almost everything. My only hesitation is that it does take longer to dry. What could previously be dried in 60-75 minutes often takes 120 now. But even with the added time its still extremely more energy efficient. FYI Ive been using it for over 4 months as of writing this.
