Lot of good features except for selves spacing

Submitted by Max0711 - 4/21/2026

The capacities of the freezer and refrigerator is good. The compartments: good size for produce bins the deli drawers is quite large and is easier to find meat and cheese packages. Cooling has three controls for the freezer and refrigerator and deli drawers and there is quick ice maker option All the cooling features work great. Energy -we have no means of measuring the refrigerator efficiency. Shelving: this is the one area LG needs to improve the shelves have limited adjustments to spaces between each shelf the minimum shelf space prevents you from placing a 12 ounce can of soda on the shelf placing a one gallon bottle of ice tea just squeezes between the shelves and the door shelves have no adjustment.

Warranty and Warranty Department are a SCAM

Submitted by chd49 - 4/21/2026

Buyer beware LG warranty is a complete scam There is a sunken in area inside the refrigerator in front of the left drawer which is clearly a manufacture defect. Over 7 phone calls to the warranty department they continuously state after review of the notes I will receive a call back within 24 to 48 hours and have never once received a call back. I have escalated the issue and spoken to managers as well as managers of their managers. Every time it is a complete runaround run around. One of their technicians came out verified that it was defective and they are still pushing back trying not to correct their defective product that is still under warranty The first refrigerator that was delivered both doors were scratched. They replaced the doors and now they will not line up correctly at all in addition to the sunken in area inside. Since then they are refusing to correct the door issue and defective area inside Stay far away from LG as they clearly train their employees to avoid warranty repairs

Nice refrigerator but i had to repair after 2 week

Submitted by Billybongg86 - 4/20/2026

I bought this refrigerator it lasted nearly 10 days. Then first i noticed water dripping down from door ice maker then everything started failing. I called lg and they hooked me up with a lg certified repair man. He told me about a week or so to come to evaluate the refrigerator and that i would be liable for the $140.00 diagnosis if my repair was not covered by lgs warranty. Well the refrigerator diagnoses itself so i had to replace the defrost heater after that i had to replace the main board. The refrigerator is working great now.

Submitted by LBahlman - 4/12/2026

Started off working extremely well. Like 2 ice maker feature as we use a lot of ice. Lower drawer ice maker continues to freeze up making a loud clunking sound. Worked with an LG customer service rep who helped me reset the system worked for a month and now froze up again. Not happy with product hasnt even been 3 years. Very disappointed.

Happy

Submitted by Teensytheclown - 12/4/2025

Happy with the product. Spacious even with the in door ice maker. Sometimes the ice doesnt feed through because it stuck together but minor inconvenience. The smaller shelves on the left door make it easy to see what you have hard to keep more than you need. The middle flex door/drawer has slots for 5 dividers but you only get one. Would be nice if you could buy more.

BEware and be forewarned

Submitted by K_Mannn - 11/28/2025

It is amazing how LG can cheapen up its products. This was basically the replacement model we bought 11 yr ago and started dying after 9 yrs. This version has lost: 3rd drawer in the freezer Adjustable divider in the chill drawer Half shelf in the fridge Middle crisper drawer in the fridge Perfect side lighting in the fridge in favor of one LED strip up top. Freezer doesnt get down to the set temp. Fridge doesnt get down to the set temp returned the 1st one that wouldnt go below 40.5. The door water fill spout is AWFUL door crushed ice spout throws ice sideways so its in the floor Chill drawer handle is STUPID - drip any water out the door spout it ends up filling the drawer pull handle. To cheapen the thin plastic chill drawer LG corrugated it to make it stronger - so now soda cans cant stand upright when you close the drawer. The compressor and closed system is so weak it doesnt get down to and hold the set temps. Service guy said they hate working on LG and have had to replace dozens of them. The sad part is LG had to nearly give away free the 3-yr extended warranty and an additional 1-yr std warranty to get folks to buy LG. The. Annual cost of LG fridges is REDICULOUS seeing that the service guy predicts it will need replacing in 8-9 years.

Cooling Shelves Drawers Dispenser There are SO MANY simple design flaws on this model. It is basically a replacement of the FD model I purchased 11 yrs back LG has cheapened it to the max. GONE - fridge 1/2 shelf. GONE - decorative silver/gray trimmed door bins. GONE - flat chill drawer bottom so cans stand upright. GONE - door butter bin. GONE - 3rd pull-out freezer drawer. GONE - full fridge LED lighting in favor of one LED strip. GONE - convenient selection of ice/water/crushed with one push. GONE - crushed ice dispenser that does not spray ice chips onto the floor. GONE - up-front in plain view water dispenser spout where you can watch the water level hold over tall containers to fill them. Kudos LG youve cheapened yet another product and made it less convenient Any consumer who rates this unit wonderful must have had a fridge that was much worse before this one Oh did I mention that the fridge freezer will not attain the set-point temperatures? The setting 33 and -7 are there simply to fool you

STUIPD FRIDGE. DONT BUY IT. Is being returned.

Submitted by KMannnn - 11/2/2025

Do not buy this model. I bought its predecessor 11 years ago and for the past 6 have had nothing but problems. Replaced compressor replaces two fans replaces fridge evaporator replaced the freezer defrost drain system the unit sprung a leak somewhere tgat two techs could not locate. So I stupidly bought another LG because it had high ratings. NOT for reliability though. 40 out of 100 is NIT a good record. Ok on to this one specifically. LG has cheapened this model unmeasurable. From 3 freezer drawers to two. The top drawer opens only half way so to see and get at the back one must get in their KNEES. How incredibly stupid. Why do that? Well because KG eliminated the slide$$$ that used have the drawer open fully. NOW it has to be supported by the drawer below it. The chill drawer has been cheapened. Instead of an adjustable divider now it has to fit into slots. Ok no big deal BUT you cannot stand a drink can upright to save space. Why? Because LG cheapened the drawer and to keep the bottom rigid it corrugated it so now no can will stay upright when it gets knocked around opening/closing the chill drawer. The fridge does not cool to the set temp. Set at 33 to test it the coldest it gets is 40.0. The shelves are terrible. Doing away with the half sliding shelf makes it unusable to put anything tall in the fridge. A fast food drink cup wont even fit. Everything must lay down. Otherwise the top shelf has to be removed or the shelf moved which leaves like a 2 hi space between shelves to fit WHAT?? The water dispenser is so stupidly placed that you cannot fill a narrow neck bottle without getting on your knees to be able to see where the spout is. The predecessor had a short spout in FRONT of the ice chute so you could SEE IT. Not this model. It is hidden under the ice chute where it cant be seen so if you dont hit it just right there is water sprayed all over the dispenser and the freezer door the stupid handle turns into a reservoir that fills up with an inch of spilled water and the floor. Speaking of the dispenser WHY is it so obnoxiously large wide? Theres no glass cup pitcher so huge. What does LG think someone is going to put a frying pan in there to fill with water?? Stupid. EXCUSE TYPOS STUPID LG website has no way to scroll this window to go up and check for/edit errors AND the site will not allow me to add photos of what I described.

Delivery Disaster and Unresolved Property Damage

Submitted by Ace 99 - 9/16/2025

Review: LG LF29H8330S - Rating: 1/5 stars Product: 29 cu. ft. Smart Standard-Depth MAX 4-Door French Door Refrigerator with Full-Convert Drawer Model LF29H8330S Worst Customer Experience of My Life - Avoid at All Costs I purchased this LG refrigerator as a Premium Care member expecting the higher level of service that comes with that investment. What I received instead was a catastrophic delivery failure that resulted in property damage and months of corporate runaround. The Delivery Disaster On the scheduled delivery date after being delayed LGs contracted delivery team RXO subcontractor arrived completely unprepared. They had only a basic dolly and immediately asked me for tools to open the packaging. Their repeated attempts to force the refrigerator through my doorway resulted in: Significant damage to my walls and stairs requiring $500-600 in professional repairs Damage to the brand-new refrigerator itself Complete job abandonment - they left the damaged appliance outside my home Corporate Response: A Masterclass in Avoiding Responsibility What followed was even worse than the delivery failure: Weeks of ignored communications despite being escalated to LGs Presidential Liaison Team Constant deflection between departments its up to the sales team well update you weekly Unauthorized return attempts while supposedly negotiating a settlement Harassment through carriers calling different family members repeatedly Complete failure to address property damage - they wont even provide a settlement offer The Real Problem: LGs Business Model This isnt just about one bad delivery. LGs entire customer service structure is designed to wear you down through: Multiple departments with no authority to actually resolve issues Endless escalations that lead nowhere Executive teams that exist in name only A deliberate strategy of delay until customers give up Premium Care Members Beware The most insulting part? Im a Premium Care member who paid extra for supposedly superior service. Instead I received the worst customer experience imaginable with LG refusing to honor their service commitments or provide basic accountability for property damage caused by their agents. Current Status After months of attempting resolution through LGs internal channels Ive been forced to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and am proceeding with State Attorney General action. LG has demonstrated they are unwilling or unable to resolve legitimate property damage claims through their normal processes. Bottom Line The refrigerator may have good features but LGs delivery partnerships are unreliable their customer service is deliberately obstructive and they will not stand behind their service commitments even for Premium Care members. Save yourself the nightmare - buy from a company that actually backs their products and services. Would I recommend this product? Absolutely not. Would I ever purchase from LG again? Never. Update: 9/16/25 - Still no resolution from LG despite regulatory complaints.

Great Fridge just some minor annoying features

Submitted by Timmw - 7/21/2025

Very nice fridge overall. The reason I cant give it 5 stars is because of a couple minor things. The door alarm starts beeping about 40 seconds after the door has been opened. This is extremely annoying especially if youre trying to load groceries into it. Pretty sure LG can trust is customers to close their own refrigerator doors useless feature. The other bad feature is the touch water/ice dispenser. Inconvenient if you just want to get some ice and then water. You have to touch the select button 3 times but its not responsive or sensitive to touch so it feels like a lot of trial and error just to get water. It feels like an old guy designed this fridge to attract what they think younger customers want but they missed the mark. Cool it with the technology sometimes real buttons are way better. Still very happy with the fridge so far though.

Does not filter water

Submitted by OKPete - 7/12/2025

Weve had the fridge for 6 months. It has worked great and the large capacity has been nice. When I changed the water filter at 6 months I discovered that the filter didnt have water in it so none of our water or ice had been filtered all this time. I went ahead and installed a new filter to make sure that it wasnt a problem with the original filter. When I called LG to ask about getting it repaired they said this model only bypasses the filter and if I want filtered water I have to have a plumber install a filter system on the water line that hooks to the fridge So as long as youre ok with unfiltered water this fridge is great

Dont buy if you expect to use water dispenser

Submitted by Not a Happy Camper 1024 - 5/24/2025

If youre going to buy an LG Fridge you need to know two things: Only the top right door reliably closes all the time - the left door and the convertible drawer feel like they should do a soft close but they almost always stay open. There is no beep to let you know on the left door. I could have coped with the above issue but we use our water and ice dispenser regularly. I recently had to change filters and thought I was doing it wrong because it seemed like I needed to use too much force. So I did what you do - went to YouTube - sure enough - you need two hands to twist the filter in - and you end up deforming the plastic - absolutely horrible engineering Yes I used an OEM filter - so its an LG issue. Now - the water dispenser leaks. I can also say with a reasonable level of confidence that the connection will break over time simply because of the force needed to screw the filter in. This is a show stopper for me - likely will never buy an LG Fridge again - Ive never seen engineering this bad for any appliance

Submitted by FleetwoodRick - 12/18/2024

Unfortunately we have not had a great experience thus far. The unit itself is beautiful but in less than 3 months we had a complete failure and lost everything in the fridge and freezer have already had 2 LG technicians here to replace and recharge a compressor and have another one scheduled to perform another replacement of the compressor and condenser. We are still working out of a temporary fridge until we are assured this one will maintain temperature. Over $1000 worth of groceries lost so far with no resolution yet from LG. Very Disappointing.

Nice refrigerator

Submitted by Matt311 - 12/17/2024

I have had the refrigerator for 11 months and have not had any issues with it. The features are what I have expected. It is quiet and has nice soft close doors. It has plenty of room. The ice makers are nice. There have been two occasions where I needed to remove the door ice maker and break up the ice as it bonded together in a large block. The only other thing was when I was changing the water filter and I took it out and noticed the it was completely dry. Found out that water was not going through it. After I poured water into the filter from my sink effectively priming the filter it started to work.

Wow very impressed with this refrigerator It is so deep you can put a lot more on the shelves. Gallon tea containers fit on the right door shelves and the left door shelves are perfect for salad dressings chocolate syrup caramel syrup ketchup and mustard. Love the two ice cube systems. Excellent crushed ice and nice cubed ice as well. The lower ice tray in the freezer came in handy for the Thanksgiving guests. Love the pull out tray in the freezer to put ice cream containers on. LG sent out a repair vendor and he said that it was a common problem and there was nothing that could be done with it. LG sent out another repair man and he said the same thing. Door still hang up and will not close properly. Wish that I had bought another brand.

I have never loved a kitchen appliance more than I love this refrigerator The amount of space is mind blowing I love the versatility of the middle drawer and the dual ice makers

Will never buy another LG product

I bought this unit thinking it was a good product. We have had to have the unit locked at 2 times for a door closing issue. Both times the repair technician said that it was a design issue and nothing could be done for it.
