Worst refrigerator Ive owned it lasted 4 years

New LG fridge only lasted 4.5 years. The warranty is a joke and the service technician couldnt be worse. The fridge started to get warm inside to the point that food would spoil. I called LG and they sent a technician who punched a hole in one of the compressor lines an told me that the compressor was good but one of the lines had corroded and over time lost refrigerant he said that couldnt be fixed and the warranty didnt cover it anyways so he unplugged his gear drained the little refrigerant that was still inside the system and told me to throw away this fridge and get a new one. I didnt bother to argue or even call LG again. From now on lesson learned never again will I buy an LG appliance.

We bought a LG French door refrigerator in thinking it was a great brand but after a few years it stopped cooling and making ice. We found out that a unit that LG uses only lasts a few years and will have to be replaced frequently after 3-5 years.

Two breakdowns in less than 18 months

We have owned this fridge for 17 months and it has broken down twice already. Both times it is the evaporator fan motor that goes bad. No its not frozen or blocked by ice - it just breaks. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Please read ALL reviews carefully and do NOT trust any positive recent reviews. I have owned this refrigerator for less than 3yrs. It is no longer working. The freezer started defrosting on Thursday and by Saturday the refrigerator was also broken. I called customer service on Friday. They sent my info to a vendor who contacted me a few later. They stated they were coming out the next day Saturday. No one showed on Saturday and since its a weekend I cant get any information regarding if and when someone is coming. This completely unacceptable for a product that is not even 3yrs old. Im pretty sure that once someone comes a part will need to be ordered. Im now 3 full days without a refrigerator and 2 small kids.

Had for a couple years. It was fine at first but after a while it kept having white dust particles coming out of the water dispenser even though it was never used. Got a new LGfilter and still the problem exists. Technician said its just the hard water but our other fridge never did this. For now Ive turned off the ice and its slowed down but now we cant have ice made. Seriously considering returning to Costco to get a new one if theyll let me. $2500 for no ice is not acceptable. Apparently this is a common problem after reading other reviews and comments online. Also had problems with the right door closing and sealing well so the fridge was not staying cold enough.

Our 14 month old LG 26 CU. FT. SMART WI-FI ENABLED FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR failed. We had to wait a week to get a service person out and another week to get the parts. The fridge fan motor burned out causing us to lose all our food. Thank goodness we paid for the extended warranty. Who can go two weeks without a fridge?

I have never purchased an LG appliance before. I do enjoy the convenience of the French door refrigerator. The freezer has good sized capacity. Having ice available in two locations is perfect It was unexpected and disappointing to have my refrigerator fan fail when barely one year old. Fortunately I had purchased the extended warranty coverage and it was repaired in a timely manner by a knowledgeable LG technician. Overall I would recommend this frig. Its roomy and I like the ice on the door feature.

Absolutely atrocious support. My compressor still under warranty has gone bad and LG support offered to schedule a $500 appointment to replace it. I had trouble finding an alternative so I agreed to have LG perform the repair. They scheduled a company that doesnt service my area. That company returned the repair request to LG. LG then resubmitted the same repair request to that same company who denied and returned the repair request again. LG then proceeded to close the service request altogether and could not give me an answer as to why. Im assuming that means theres no one else that services my area so now I guess Im just out $1800 on a 4 year old refrigerator EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

I have the unit 14 months. Overall it was fine. Then the freezer began icing up. Had to pay a repairman $125 to research the problem and he found inside the Refrig door where the top ice maker is the water hose was never fully inserted into the receptacle causing water to leak out.

We are very disappointed in the refrigerator. In less than two years we have already had to replace the entire back inside panel of the refrigerator due to a sensor malfunctioning and allowing too much cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator area thus causing food and drinks in the refrigerator area to freeze. The part required to solve the issue was to order the entire back inside panel of the fridge area and not just the sensor with the entire cost being $657.80 and we paid a little more than $2000 for the fridge less than two years ago. Dont think well have another LG refrigerator

It stopped working after 2 and a half years of buying it it took them more than a month to fix it they have terrible customer service they dont work. No matter how many calls I made they said they would come one day and that day would come and no one would show up. So they had me for more than a month no one could solve my problem.

I had a previous issue with freezer and they sent out a repair person to help expedite the problem - even though it was out of warranty -- The repair person solved the problem in less than 5 minutes and also worked around my work day to fir me in between 2 other customers

Long wait for parts

I loved my LG French Door refrigerator until about two months ago. I heard a pop and my fridge wasnt working. It blew a fuse on the main board. I contacted LG through the App and it took them two weeks to send a service number. I had already got a repairman. We are waiting for a new main board. No one has one in stock. Ordered one through LG Parts. The availability date keeps getting pushed back and is now 9/15/24. Lucky for me I have an old refrigerator in my basement. Running up and down the 14 steps when you want to make something or put the groceries away has gotten very old. I am beyond frustrated. Before this experience I would have rated it very highly.

I love my new refrigerator. Unfortunately it arrived with a broken shelf but my dealer Yingst Appliance immediately ordered a new shelf and it arrived only two days later. I love the design and I love the display that lets me know the inside temperature of both the refrigerator and the freezer. I am looking forward to many years of trouble-free use.

I bought this a year ago and it started malfunctioning Technicians tried to replace compressor filter etc but could not repair it. It does not hold the appropriate temperature

Weve had an LG refrigerator for 6 years. We have a code come up and have to unplug it and plug it back on every 24 hours before the water/ice works. LG says it will cost flat rate of $485 just to send a someone to look at ut. Unexceptable

Poor freezer ice maker

Ive had nothng but issues with the bottom freezer ice maker. The ice maker was replaced 2 times the first time when it was delivered and the second time when it was in warranty thank goodness I bought it from Costco. I wanted it replaced immediately and LG woudl not replace it. It broke again a few weeks ago and since I was out of warranty they wanted me to pay 400.00 for parts and labor. I reached out to several different people at LG and no one would approve it. Other than that the refrigerator iis great.

Had the fridge one year. Stopped cooling and days later it stopped completely.... then I called customer service and cant find anyone to repair but still working on it.... so they say as we lost our food and family of 6 they continue to push me off. Mind you still under warranty. Extremely disappointed in LG

Very unhappy with the refrigerator it gives me so much problems Damage on it messed up my cabinets and my flooring and still up to this point it hasnt been resolved. They already serviced it twice and still the same problem. I am so disappointed. I want my money back very bad appliance.

For the first 22 months it worked great Loves the roominess and the dual icemaker Recently it started cooling poorly and now is not cooling at all LG is covering it under an extended warranty but it is difficult to get anyone to come fix it. Two week wait for a repair appointment.

So far this refrigerator has given us no issues in the 12 months I have had it. I like the no finger print and outside dispenser for water and ice. I would like to know how to stop the filters so I will not need to replace them.

Great refrigerator. produces plenty of ice and has more than enough storage area and of course keeps everything really cold. The water and ice dispenser are perfect. The display on the fridge is intuitive and easy to use.
