Do not buy an LG fridge

I would give zero stars if I could. This unit was delivered inoperable. It has an error code showing a refrigerant leak. I have spent hours on the phone with customer service and tech support with no help. I ordered this one to replace a 4 year old fridge that broke multiple times before the warranty ran out. A cooler and ice would be more efficient than an LG fridge.

Poor Customer Support

I have been a loyal LG customer for years having purchased multiple LG appliances due to their reputation for quality and innovation. However my recent experience with LG Support has shattered my faith in the brand. In mid-June I opened a service repair ticket for an ice buildup issue in my LG fridges freezer section. Despite multiple follow-ups my ticket has been utterly ignored. Its now the end of July and I have received no communication no updates and no resolution. This is completely unacceptable. Brand loyalty should be met with exceptional customer service but LG has failed miserably. The lack of response is not just disappointing its infuriating. If this is how LG treats its loyal customers I shudder to think how they handle new ones.

Garbage appliance

Ive never reviewed a fridge before but after FIVE major problems with this fridge in two years I feel compelled to steer others away from this junk. LG has a well known issue apparently with the algorithm their compressor runs on which causes it to overheat and freeze up- killing the motor. Weve had three warranty visits and solved our own problem twice. I will give their customer service people credit that they have been very nice and helpful and gave us a courtesy warranty visit since our warranty had expired a month prior to the third issue with the compressor motor and/or ice maker temperature gauge etc. I have never had such an expensive and awful appliance. LG - do better. Youre wasting families money and food by providing such an inferior product. Currently the diagnostic on the app says its fine but the temperature for the last 5 days has been warm enough to cause my pizza dough in a cardboard tube to explode in the fridge. And the fridge reads 33. I am beyond frustrated and will steer clear of LG appliances in the future.

I am a believer in LG products.Primarily for 3 reasons. Quality of materials reliability of product and for those few occasions I needed service. In my newly built home have LG washer and dryer Refrigerator built in wall oven and range top and of course an LG dishwasher. I have had LG products in my past homes as well. Quality at a very competitive price.

Very nice refrigerator with great features. Quiet Easy to use and the Wifi in nice since i travel a lot and can change the temp setting on the go. The ice maker seems a little wonky but Im waiting to see if it functions well for a few more months. I got it for a $1900 off sale plus the extended warranty offer...so one cant beat that

Solid fridge I think its worth it if its on sale. Wouldnt pay 3k for it. Ice maker could be designed better as some ice cubes clump together and the auger cant break them apart without some human assistance. Other than that fridge fits perfectly in my space and does the job.

One year and 1 month in my opinion regarding this refrigerator is mixed. We have a similar LG at our other residence and both seem to be premium and very functional. However this particular unit began producing large amounts of ice and frost in the freezer which required a service call to fix. That was about a month ago and so far so good but any time a large purchase item requires service so soon in its service life gives one pause. Fairly or unfairly home appliances should provide trouble free service for many years.
