Mostly fine but feels downgraded from older model

I recently replaced my 15-year-old LG fridge with this model which feels very similar overall. However I noticed more components are made of plastic so Im unsure if it will last as long. One improvement I do love is the additional freezer drawerit makes food more accessible and easier to organize. Unfortunately the bottom drawer lacks a light which is a disappointing oversight. The ice maker however is a downgrade. The ice frequently gets stuck and has to be manually broken apart which wasnt an issue with my old fridge. I find this most annoying of all since it needs to be dealt with every couple of days. Another inconvenience is the single dispenser buttonyou have to select either ice or water before use unlike my previous model which had separate buttons for each. The old fridge also featured an extra water button on the exterior making it easy to fill larger containers and I really miss that feature. Overall it seems like a decent refrigerator so far after one month but it has some frustrating design flaws compared to my previous model.

Good Follow Thru

We bought this LG refrigerator in 2020 and its worked perfect until mid-December of this year 2024. The compressor failed and with a little research I learned LG had been sued over compressor issues. LG agreed to provide a replacement compressor and later agreed to cover the labor as well. LG fixed our refrigerator and it has been working fine now for 3 weeks with fingers crossed. I will have to say LG was extremely responsive and made sure our issue had been resolved. I cant believe Im saying this but I think I would buy another LG refrigerator based on LGs efforts to resolve our issue. My understanding is they have gotten rid of the bad compressors.

Terrible warranty service

Product failed while in warranty. Broken for 8 weeks and 5 attempts to fix. Finally marked as unfixable by LG. Offered a prorated buyout for refrigerator. This is terrible customer service making the customer shoulder the burden of a poor quality product.

I bought a month ago and when delivered there was a dent in the right hand door. I was presented with options and choose to have a replacement sent. The original had an annoying feature whereby the 2 freezer drawers would not stay open unless held making it inconvenient to load and unoad. One drawer actuall closed on my wifes hand. Fortunately the replacement unit did not have this problem. Wish there was a light on the lower freezer drawer

We bought our LG refrigerator as part of a set. This is our first experience with a French door model. The refrigerator portion is much more spacious than our previous traditional model while the freezer section is a little smaller than our previous model. The ice maker is much more compact than our previous model while the ice is preferable in shape and size. The display of temperatures on the control panel is very cool and spot on with an independent thermometer

Somehow the discounted extended warranty box got unchecked during our online order-now we have to pay full price. Gorgeous with flaws

Ive had this fridge for about 2 weeks now. Its a beautiful refrigerator but there are a few things I dislike. First off is the door on the right side. You cant just push the door closed and go on your way. It will stop about 6 inches before it closes completely. You have to actually give it an addition push to make sure it closes completely. At first I thought it was just my fridge but I went to three different stores to compare and they all do the same exact thing. You can push and let of the left door and it will go to the full closed position but that right door will not. If you push that right door without making sure its fully closed and then leave the kitchen the fridge will be open the entire time. There is a door alarm but by the time it alerts you you could have left the area or the house. Its definitely a design flaw. I feel it has something to do with the position of the rubber seal on the right side which prevents it from smoothly going through the full closing motion. The other issue I have is with the ice maker. Its very slow making ice and the capacity is very limited since its a slim design. So if you plan to have guest over and more than 4 people need some ice you better make some ice in advance and store it in the freezer. The last gripe I have is with the water filter. I have dispensed at least 8 gallons of water to try to get rid of that chemical charcoal taste. It will be fine right after doing a bulk water dump but if I come back an hour later for water the water taste horrible once again. My tap water actually taste better. It almost taste as if it could be toxic. It was not like that with my previous refrigerator. The ice also taste awful. Overall its a gorgeous fridge and the storage is well thought out but those few gripes I have is really making me question my purchase.

Not happy with the buy. Had an issue with the compressor within 2 years after purchase. Fortunately that was covered under warranty. Had display panel water/ice dispenser issue after 5 years which is not covered under warranty. LG said it will cost me $500 for fix. Probably I will not go with LG if I go for another refrigerator in the future.

while the unit is noce looking there is a plastic cover on all the Stainless Steel. The covering starts to peel of so you have to pull it all the way off So one door has the covering the other does not. The warranty is very misleading If you have a claim as I did for a noisy compressor and cooling unit. The 5 or 7 year warranty does not mean anything until the unit fails and stops cooling. A noisy unit does not count for the warranty. LG wanted $458 to come out and determine if it is covered by the warranty. The customer service agents are useless they have no knowledge they just want to get your money.

Failed us at the worst possible time

Refrigerator already died after only owning it for a little over 5 years. It suddenly stopped cooling and we have no idea why. We called LG and they quoted us $430 in parts + labor to repair it. Likely due to a failed compressor. It failed on us days before we had guests come over for Thanksgiving. Worst possible time for this to happen.

I bought this refrigerator after having owned another LG fridge for 10 years but for some reason this one has had over six issues where it stopped cooling would not push cold air from freezer to upper fridge or the ice maker. Have had LG technicians out to repair it and now am having another issue with the same fridge again. Now it is being placed on an outside agency to repair it. At what point would LG consider this fridge a lemon and replace it for the customer. I own over four LG appliances and after this experience not sure if will be getting LG appliances in the future.

I purchased what the sales person said was the number one fridge less than three years ago and just had a service call for a condenser motor cost of 450 and now know these condensers are a problem. Now if I want an extended warranty it is 500 for one year. I will not be buying another LG anything.

Shelves terrible. Bins bad. Water not cold.

Shelves are terrible There is nowhere you can put a standard size 8 inches tall water bottle upright without extra empty shelf supports between them. Top and bottom shelves to first support biggest gaps are 7.5 inches. So for an extra 1/2 inch you have to give up 2.5 of the 3 inches between each support. Also each shelf bracket has to have an empty shelf support between so the closest you can get the shelves is approximately 6 inches...not really because there is a lip you have to maneuver under and top of shelf to top of shelf is nearly 6 inches...but not quite. Salsa pickles jams....many condiments....6.5 inches so another 2.5 inches wasted. The fruit and vegetable drawers are poorly designed. You have to open both doors to open a drawer beyond a couple inches because they meet in the middle and run into the other door. The long drawer in the bottom isnt bad but it is SO SHALLOW approximately 3 inches deep. That accommodates stacking 2-3 packages of sliced cheese or a blister pack of deli meat. This refrigerator is obviously not designed for the American market and American products. Final complaint is the water in door is not cold. I dont know how it can be only 3 degrees cooler than the water coming out of my faucet when the lines are INSIDE THE REFRIGERATOR. I dont expect a huge reservoir but I do expect to be able to fill a glass with COLD water when the lines havent been used in an hour or two.

We bought this fridge from Costco and Ive had zero issues with it. The ice is made quickly and the temperature stay stead. There is also plenty of room in the refrigerator with many drawers and bins. Its easy to clean and any questions I have had to LG customer service has gone well and they have been very friendly.

My refrigerator broke within 4 years. Evaporator cooler coil and compressor went out. Warranty appliance company ordered the parts and it has been on back order for 3 weeks. I have not had a refrigerator for 1 month.

Large capacity in part due to icemaker in door vs in refrigerator. However small capacity for ice and small cubes. Doors seem to dent easily. No light in bottom drawer which makes it a little difficult at night.

I bought my refrigerator less than a month ago. I am so disappointed in it. I bought it based on the water filtration and dispenser. The water tastes horrible I cant even drink it. I have a new refrigerator and am drinking bottled water Ive talked to customer service several times and so far have gotten no where. They suggested that I pay a plumber come out and check it out Why should I put out more money when the problem is with their product??
