Poor Customer Service

Purchased a new LG Refrigerator in early August 2024. Not at all happy with their customer service. Reported a problem with a door mechanism that is covered under warranty nearly one month ago. Just received notification of an appointment a few days ago. This is our first experience with LG Appliances and likely will be our last.

Lack of Customer Service for LG Products

If you need service on your appliance you are left without support from LG. We purchased this refrigerator and had the appliance store delver and install it. The ice production has been poor since we had it installed. Within 3 months frost was building up on the back wall of the freezer. We called the appliance store that we purchased it from at they completed a repair. The repair did not fix the problem and frost built up again on the back of the freezer. They repaired the freezer portion again for the frost build up. The repair did not fix the issue and we reached out again to our appliance store. The applinace serviceman said LG would not consider replacing the refrigertor until 3 service calls had been completed. They also said reaching out for assistance with LG was becoming an issue. They placed an order for another part and called to schedule the repair and then unexpectly the store closed and I was left without the repair. Since the time for the part to arrive and discovering the business had closed the refrigerator was just out of the 1 year manufacturer warranty. I reached out to LG since the issue has never been fixed and started within the manufacturer warranty. They refuse to cover anything since it is outside the manufacturer warranty. They require a hold charge to my credit card for $399 dollars to schedule a repair with them and will repair it for a max charge of $458.95 with a 90 day warranty on parts and labor. If you have LG extended warranty they charge a $99 service charge plus $225.31 per year for coverage. If you want to extend it 3 years it is $414.54. We purchased the extended warranty from the appliance store so LG does not honor that warranty. It is very frustrating to have a refrigator that obviously has a issue from manufacturer but LG will not stand behind their product. If your business closes that you bought your refrigerator from you will be out of luck and will be paying for the repair.

Concerning service issues

We struggled with getting our defect repaired with new LG fridge. After the 4th service call they finally replace 3 parts and the freezer defrost now finally works. Service tech for 4th visit knew what he was doing and hopefully has now taken care of the initial issue that started 2 weeks after our our purchase 1 1/2 years ago.

Pros: Large interior space convenient water dispenser button exterior handle design allows for access without having to touch the face of the doors preventing fingerprints warning beeper if doors are left open for an extended amount of time quiet good lighting. Cons: Power cord on top of the unit...had to modify cabinet above it to accommodate the cord prefer a black cabinet better than the grey so it would match LG range cabinet. Had to schedule a service call to have doors leveled. Even though its counter depth it protrudes more than others.

Id love to give a better review but I need stop getting the run a round. Ive always had great respect for LG products. Were on our second washer/dryer combo for years we used LG phones oled and nano cell tvs and we had all LG kitchen appliances in our previous home. Labor Day weekend I recognize a sale on an LG refrigerator having another brand in my home now I wanted to go back to LG. Great price quick delivery we could not refuse. Delivery was to be on Sept. 3rd. I called that day and was told it would be delivered but they could not tell me what time. Someone would call a half hour before they would arrive. No called or showed up. After several phone calls and emails on September 6th. I got an email saying we will ensure it arrives on that date. Thats in quotes because its exactly how it read. Today September 10 I called again to confirm delivery and asked if someone could call ahead for a gate code and give me time to empty my refrigerator which they would haul away. Customer service said they would email them the message. I also emailed LX Pantos. Not hearing from anyone or it being delivered at 6:00pm I called again only to hear its not out for delivery and it might deliver Friday. I can understand if someone said a truck broke down or they were running late but according to customer service it never went out. So thats 2 days we stayed home all day when someone could have called texted or emailed it wasnt going to happen today. By the way on September 4th or 5th I tried the call CS so I wouldnt have to wait 20 minutes on the phone and of course they called back hours later while I was eating dinner in a restaurant and had to go outside to take the call. Im really disappointed.

Warranty?

We purchased almost $7000 of brand new LG appliances when we remodeled our home at the end of 2023. One of those appliances was a counter depth refrigerator. After nine months the refrigerator blew. Its compressor and its power control board mounted in the top of the refrigerator. Ive now been told that the warranty only covers the compressor and I am on the hook for the labor and the Control board for a product at nine months old. Can I get a $500 bill for a product of months old when your product failed? I would really like to know.

Have owned this fridge for about a year now and so far it has been excellent. We love counter depth size. It fits great in our galley style kitchen but the interior space is still excellent The freezer is bigger than most which is great because we do a lot of meal prep so need to be able to store weeks worth of meals in the freezer. Also love that it beeps if you accidentally leave the door open. Would definitely recommend this fridge to anyone that wants a space saving option without losing interior space

Ive never owned any LG products before and I was a little hesitant to purchase one. At Home Depot Marty Vaz was very helpful and explained everything I needed to know. I am so glad I bought it. This LG is in the 21st century along with me. Ive upgraded to a beautiful appliance. It was already programed for the freezer and refrigerator I didnt have to anything. We have now had this product for 1.5 years and it is excellent. Really like the space this fridge has and ability to handle any size item we put in there. It has performed great keeping consistent temperature in both fridge and freezer. It is very quiet even the ice maker is fairly quiet. The filtration must work well as really minimal food smell is noticed when opening the doors. We had always had side by side before but so glad we got this model.

The reviews seem great. Just dont buy it from LG - Im begging you. Ive wasted so many hours on the phone with LG and their Delivery Carrier and it doesnt make a difference. I have a tale of two ordering processes: Ordering from LG: - I ordered a fridge on July 17th for delivery by LG on July 26th. - It finally attempted delivery almost 2 weeks LATE on August 6th. - Nevermind me not having a fridge in my new house for 2 weeks. Thats not my primary issue if you can believe it. - The issue came after I REJECTED the delivery which happened because the doors open wider than the fridge and it wouldnt fit in my space... no hidden hinges on this MAX model.. - The Delivery Carrier Hub Group Final Mile was great to work with and noted they would handle marking it as Rejected/Return Needed with LG. Great - It took 3 days for LG to register the Return to kickstart the process. Not terrible. - Unfortunately its now August 27th 21 days after I rejected the fridge and I still dont have my refund. Why you ask? Because LG requires the refrigerator to be returned to their warehouse not their Delivery Partners warehouse. You read that right. I never took possession of the fridge and LG knows its been sitting in their Partners warehouse for 21 days now. LG is supposed to collect returns from the Delivery Partners Return Bin once a week and process them for refunds. For some reason that isnt happening. Who is paying for that problem? The Customer. Why should I be LGs bank while they continue to mismanage their own internal inventory and return process? Its simply unacceptable. Instead I got to pay off that $2001.54 refrigerator and the replacement I ordered from Lowes because LG couldnt figure out how to refund my money in a timely fashion. Moral of the story - Dont buy from LG. Order from Lowes. I ordered a different fridge from Lowes on August 7th and they delivered and installed it THE NEXT DAY. Meanwhile Ive loaned LG my hard-earned money for 40 days now for a fridge I never took possession of.

Terrible customer service

I bought this refrigerator in July of this year and it was the worst purchase I ever made. The freezer didnt work. Neither the store we purchased from or LG could provide a service call. I filled out information for a replacement but never heard back from anyone about delivery. Dont send texts or emails. LG will not respond. Getting to a live agent takes work and patience. After several more phone calls I was told that the model I bought was out of stock. I would not have known this if I hadnt called repeatedly. LG has now offered a refund which I have submitted the information for again. I am not holding my breath that the refund will come without more phone calls.

I purchased two of these identical refrigerators. My experience with LG has not been good and I would not recommend purchasing one. 1 Refrigerator worked and 1 failed after only 2 days. I first tried myself to reset the refrigerator but that failed. Then I called the warranty/support line and was able to schedule a semi local repair tech to come. After scheduling an appointment they never showed up nor did they call. Then we had multiple power outages and it started working. Then the same refrigerator failed again. All I get is text messages from LG and they will not call me. I wanted on site support but not the previous repair rep who failed to show up....There are none. After another power outage it started working again. So now I have 1 refrigerator working and 1 that periodically works and no LG support.

Huge space requires space for side vent

I absolutely love the space inside this fridge. The water spout being inside saves a lot of door space. The shelves are sturdy. The drawers are versatile. The freezer feels huge even with the ice bucket. I wish wed known that there was a vent on the side of the fridge in addition to the back. Our fridge space is tight and the lack of air circulation has caused it to overheat and shut down twice this summer. It takes a day or two to turn back on so that makes for a lot of melted freezer items. Also it takes 4 days to schedule a repair person to come when you need help which is a huge pain. Super frustrating.

LG product good but software?

We finally landed on this LG model refrigerator and it is outstanding. But the software will not load on my iPhone my wifes iPhone or my iPad. But love the new refrigerator.
