Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy, and expensive and you probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Great features Terrible Reliability and Service

Submitted by Curt and Kim - 8/2/2025

We purchased a signature series refrigerator Model LUPXC2386N for our new home in late 2019. Love the features except never been able to connect wifi feature. First issue happened in January 2022 when EFF error code would sporadically flash on the door message screen. We contacted LG customer service and suggested we turn refrigerator off for 20 min and then turn back on. The EFF error code did not resolve. Another call to the appliance store whom we purchased refrigerator and they sent out an authorized third party contracted service provider early Feb 2022. When person arrived Feb 7 2022 he noted never seeing or servicing a refrigerator like this model could be good or bad interpretation. He noted it appeared top rear shelves were not properly cooling and ordered new electronic circuit board. Board was replaced on Feb 18 2022. This did not solve issue. Contacted service provider on Feb 19 2022 for resolution and new ticket was required. New ticket order was sent out on Feb 21 2022. On March 03 2022 contracted service provider returned with new freezer fan installed and EFF code was resolved. The service provided admitted not knowing what the exact problem was. They left us the original circuit board that was originally replaced as noted above and apparently was not the issue. All of this work was fully covered under an extended warranty we purchased from the appliance store where we bought the refrigerator. The refrigerator operated fine for about 3 years up until February 13th 2025. February 13th 2025: We noticed refrigerator not cooling properly melted ice cream. After multiple phone calls to LG customer service and the appliance store we bought refrigerator from an LG assigned service provider made initial site visit February 19th 2025 offering suggestions turning on/off refrigerator and waiting 24 hrs. After a few days issue not resolved and service provider concluded the linear compressor was bad and needed replacement. Replacement was completed on February 25th 2025 after multiple phone calls regarding the urgency. This required cutting and welding compressor lines which was done in our home. After leaving we noticed soot from welding process in our kitchen counter tops cabinets light fixtures and floor. We contacted the service provider and they stated this is normal and would not pay for a cleaning service. At this point we questioned the competence of the LG assigned service provider. It should be noted the compressor was under LG warranty. However we had to pay $426.92 for labor and our time to clean up our kitchen. Freezer and refrigerator was now operating normally. Fast forward to April 6th 2025. April 6th 2025 we noticed refrigerator temperature increasing 6 weeks after having compressor replaced as described above. On April 7th 2025 again we contacted the appliance store we purchased refrigerator from and LG customer service. Retailer helped some but eventually would not return our calls. Turned refrigerator on/off multiple times with each time temps coming down. However refrigerator would not stay cool with temps as high as 70F noted and freezer barely below 32F. The communication between LG customer service and previous service provider was a fiasco. Finally on April 24th 2025 LG sends out a LG service technician not third party service provider. LG service technician informs us the compressor replacement was not performed properly. There is a leak in coil and they should have checked this during compressor replacement process. He noted other problems like not cleaning lines and a missing valve gasket/seal. He stated because of these errors the refrigerator cannot be fixed and needs full replacement. He recharged it and indicated this would not last but would give us time to purchase a new refrigerator. We have all detailed notes pertaining to these issues. So now we have to purchase a new refrigerator because of the incompetence of LGs service provider and LGs poor product. LGs service technician stated they LGs service provider should have never replaced the compressor in our house welding in our kitchen. After realizing this it was most likely a safety issue or even a violation still checking into this. LG will not stand behind this and has offered us a 15 percent discount on purchase of a new refrigerator. Thanks but no thanks LG. Curt Kim

Great refrigerator bad protective coating

Submitted by 1Tank - 6/7/2025

We purchased this awesome refrigerator about 3 1/2 years ago never had any issues with it until about 6 months ago the outer protective coating started flaking off on all the front surfaces called LG and they said sorry but its a month out of warranty called NFM because we had the extended warranty and they said it was just cosmetic which really makes me mad now we are looking at a 8K refrigerator that looks bad

Buyer Beware BROKE Faulty linear compressor

Submitted by Elisabeth Middleton - 12/22/2024

Do NOT buy an LG refrigerator Broke after 5 years We spent $3000 on a brand new LG refrigerator and the linear compressor broke and leaked refrigeration coolant along with over freezing walls of ice along the back ice maker not working. We lost $700 worth of food We had an extended warranty but that only covers the part and not the labor. The labor costs is so much quoted at least $1200 for everything its practically half the cost of a brand new refrigerator. LG is knowingly selling bad refrigerators Most UNRELIABLE appliance Buyer beware

LG Signature Refrigerator

Submitted by Kimberlee1234 - 11/9/2024

Love my huge LG Signature refrigerator. Its almost been 5 years with no problems. If something goes wrong Im glad I have a Home Warranty. I had the Samsung Chef Collection before this. Talk about a big trash can. The ice maker would always freeze up. It was a know problem and Samsung actually gave me my money back. So so happy I went with LG.

HORRIBLE

Submitted by Tina97 - 9/28/2024

BEWARE Worst Fridge Ever Most expensive you would think it would be the most reliable yet after one year starts to break down. The first was replaced after less than a year and the second same issues even with extended warranty customer service is a mess they try not to replace it because of its cost they experiment in trying to fix it but to no avail. HAD to throw out hundreds of dollars work of food with no compensation. AVOID

Unreliable refrigerator and terrible service

Submitted by Kristin Hill - 8/13/2024

2021 our first LG Signature refrigerator was delivered. It would not start cooling A replacement was not sent immediately but 3 weeks later. 16 months later summer 2023 the compressor FAILED and we lost all food in the unit. It took 3 weeks for LG to find a service provider but the compressor was finally replaced under warranty. There was no reimbursement for loss of food. 11 months after that summer 2024 the compressor has FAILED AGAIN. The unit is still under warranty but now after 4 weeks of no refrigerator LG has been unable to provide a service technician. They are offering us a prorated refund of $2000 less than the original purchase price. So again 4 weeks of no functioning refrigerator that is under warranty and offering a prorated refund that is $4000 less than replacing this refrigerator. This is not the reliability or service I would expect of a Signature Line product

Broke after 4 yrs fix unsuccessful

Submitted by dekdout - 6/14/2024

We purchased a 3-piece LG Signature kitchen appliance set from Costco in Oct of 2019 along with the 3 year extended warranty through SquareTrade/Allstate. After 4 and a half years the fridge stopped cooling. We walked through the extended warranty claims process and were told that the cooling system had a 10 year manufacturers warranty so a claim was started with LG. After the troubleshooting process a part was ordered with the expectation that when it arrived an appt would be scheduled. Despite following the instructions the appt wasnt scheduled until the following Monday which was a week later than we were initially told and made it 2 weeks after the fridge died. The morning of the appointment we got a text from LG stating our appointment had been or shortly would be rescheduled so we went about our day. Turns out LG was misinformed and so we werent at the house when the technician showed up. So a new appt was scheduled for Wednesday. On Wednesday the technician replaced the compressor but that didnt fix the issue so he recommended talking to Costco for a replacement or ordering a new circuit board which would take 7-10 days to arrive and he wasnt confident that would fix the issue as hes never seen that be a problem. Costco offered to refund our purchase but no longer sells appliance packages and the cost of a replacement fridge almost double what they are refunding. We could take the money and get a different fridge but then we dont have a matching set and certainly not one with the features we had with the LG. We could get the fridge fixed but with less than 5 months left on the extended warranty and reading the reviews about others having to fix this part multiple times that doesnt seem like a good idea either. Ultimately we want a fridge that works and matches the set we have in appearance and quality. 5 years is not enough of a lifetime for the amount we paid for the top of the line fridge. The customer service experience was horrible where our expectations were set multiple times by different people and not met. This is not what we expected when we paid top dollar. We invested heavily in LG for our entertainment TV our kitchen LG Signature set and our laundry. We will not be purchasing another LG product after this.

It is broken and repair has been a nightmare

Submitted by ekellr - 6/13/2024

We purchased a three-appliance package LG Signature Kitchen Set - dishwasher dual fuel range fridge on 10/30/2019 along with an extended warranty through Allstate/SquareTrade. Last weekend on 05/25/2024 the fridge stopped cooling. On 05/27/2024 Monday night I filed an online claim with SquareTrade which I completed the next morning as instructed. Since cooling issues have been handled by the manufacturer for ten years they redirected us to LG. I spoke with LG and we spent a day going through their troubleshooting process which included a manual defrost. The next day I spoke with them again and they opened an issue with the service center that handles our area Appliance Service Center. The center promptly ordered a part and started a text message thread explaining what to do while the part was being shipped to us. The instructions in the text message asked for a picture of the serial number sticker and for us to inform them when all the parts arrived. They didnt tell me how many parts to expect but as soon as I got home on Friday and saw the part I texted them on the same thread that it had arrived. We had tentatively set an appointment for yesterday 6/3 to get it installed but they couldnt confirm the time because they needed to know the part was there first. I didnt hear from them over the weekend. Yesterday morning I called LG because the service center number does not accept phone calls. I expressed my extreme frustration and concern that we might have to wait another week for the appointment making it two weeks without a fridge. I escalated to a supervisor and explained that if we had to wait another week we would never buy another LG product again. He listened to my concerns sent a high-importance request/email to the Appliance Service Center ASC and promised me a call this morning between 7-8 am PST after he followed up with the service center. He did not call this morning. I called about 45 minutes ago and spent that time waiting for the person I talked to as he couldnt transfer me to the supervisor from the previous day. He contacted ASC who said they didnt show the part as delivered. LG knew the part was delivered yesterday when we talked so the LG representative got back on the phone with ASC. They promised to contact me within the day with the next available time which is 6/10. So we will have been two weeks without a fridge I believe that if I hadnt called I wouldnt have gotten a call from the supervisor at LG Daren and wouldnt have scheduled an appointment. I dont know if 6/10 is the earliest possible time or just the next convenient time for the person who handles Duvall WA. At this point they should be going out of their way to help. As you can hopefully understand my patience and ability to give people the benefit of the doubt are low. The one positive action LG took in our favor was offering to replace the cost of the food we lost once the repairs are made. We have small kids and not having a fridge for this long has been a huge inconvenience not to mention the cost of the lost food including irreplaceable frozen breast milk. We are living out of two small coolers and buying ice every day. While I acknowledge we are fortunate to have these things coolers the ability to buy ice etc. this situation has been extremely frustrating and has made me very angry. As consumers we have limited tools at our disposal to respectfully report concerns. We noticed the refrigerator cooling system stopped working. We contacted LG and the repair service was scheduled for Monday. On Monday 6/10/2024 at 12:14 pm I got a text from the technician stating he would be at our house in about 20-30 minutes. At 12:57 he stated he was at the house despite my texting him back to say no one was home. Its obvious that the communication is one-way on that text number. I explained we received a text from LG this morning that the appointment would be rescheduled so both my wife and I left the house and continued with our day. He was an hour late and gave us no warning so even if we thought the appointment was on for 8-12 he didnt show up. I told him hed have to wait an hour until my wife got home. He said he couldnt wait because he had another customer. Im thinking Im a customer. Youre late for my house and youre worried about your next customer which is why you cant wait an hour? He said he would call his company to see if he could come tomorrow or later. I have no idea what that means and no confidence in what he said would actually happen. I bet you could send us another fridge and it would get here before this one gets fixed. Timeline for todays events: Friday 6/7 8:00 AM - Rain with Appliance Service Center sends a text stating Jabur will be at our house on Monday 6/10 between 8-10 am. Monday 6/10 8:15 AM - LG sends a text message stating Your service appointment has been or will soon be rescheduled. I also received an email stating the same attached. 12:14 PM - Jabur Nooruldeen texts via the Appliance Service Center text line stating hed be at our house in 20-30 minutes. 12:57 PM - Jabur calls stating hes at our house. The appointment has been rescheduled for Wednesday 6/12. The technician came and after a couple of hours determined that the cooling piece still wasnt working and thought it might be the panel. He said he could order one but it would take 7-10 business days to arrive and then schedule a new repair meaning we would be without a fridge for over a month. In the meantime we contacted Costco customer service and they offered to refund us the money for the fridge which is a little over $5000. However we got all three appliances as a package deal and the fridge was cheaper. Now the cost of a new fridge is $8000 plus taxes 10. If we accept the deal we will essentially be paying almost $1000 a year to use this fridge. And if we get another one it wont match the set we have. As I read reviews here and on other websites from other customers who bought this exact fridge they are having the same issues which are well-known to LG and vendors. Once the fridge breaks it doesnt matter how many times it gets fixed it always breaks again. So we are left with no option but to lose a significant amount of money. We really love the way our fridge feature and look and have been looking forward to having it in our kitchen for a long time since it is a very expensive and luxury appliance. However we were unlucky and got a bad unit. After everything that happened I DO NOT recommend this fridge to anyone We bought the most expensive top-of-the-line refrigerator thinking we wouldnt have any issues and now we are in this position. Awful

Submitted by somersetnj - 2/27/2024

Have had refrigerator for 4 years now and the fridge portion has always been set to 32degrees F but the actual temp in the fridge portion is always between 40 - 42 degrees F. Have had numerous calls with LG concierge level service team and they have sent technicians to my house but have never made any attempt to do anything to fix the problem simply replace the temp sensor. Instead they just list out several ways in which the issue could possibly be my fault. Maybe Im not leaving enough clearance around the fridge but freezer compartments work fine? maybe I filling fridge with too many products or blocking the vents but I never keep it more than half full. Thats because everything spoils so quickly I cant keep much in there. I will NEVER by another LG product EVER in my life. Complete waste of money and my time with this company.

Lacks longevity and lacks product support

Submitted by LG Signature 31 cu ft - 1/3/2024

Life expectancy is 5 years. Not worth the amount of money for a 5 year life. Purchased in Oct 2018 online. Took delivery in Dec 2018. One week before Thanksgiving the fridge stops cooling. Attempted to use the 5 year extended warranty we purchased LG denied it because we purchased it in Oct. My argument was that it was not delivered until December and wasnt actually used until Dec. It sat in its box in a warehouse waiting for our home to be completed. Right at the expiration of the warranty the fridge stops cooling and making ice. Got a tech to come out and replace the compressor and fix the ice maker. After $1100 bill problem still not resolved. Now told evaporator coil has a small leak. LG support is non-existence. Dont expect more than 5 years of use and do not expect any support.

LG does not honor warranty agreement that you have on your appliance and you cannot count on service support. Our refrigerator was out of service for over 3 months and while warranty says they will pay for parts they paid for less than half cost of parts. Life is not Good with LG. Try another brand.

Submitted by JiichanBaachan - 11/18/2022

I ordered this after our refrigerator stopped working but it was during the product shortage and had to wait a whole month to receive it I could have bought different refrigerators that were readily available but there is no substitute for excellence Our son bought the same model few years ago and he assured us it was the best refrigerator ever. He is a techie perfectionist and we trust his opinion on tech stuff We are pretty low tech and still learning about this product but its a joy to work with The style is beautiful and makes great crushed ice very quietly The compartment freezer is the best feature for us No more buried and lost food in the freezer It was worth the long wait and we are very pleased. We are short and reaching the back of top shelf is a bit difficult but that is a minor inconvenience. May it last a long time for us

Excellent refrigerator when working

Submitted by Plihb - 9/20/2022

This refrigerator is top of the line. The two freezer compartments are great for keeping organized and there is really nothing larger out there for a big family. Had the display go out for temperature selection so I had a service call done the temperature just would not show. After that repair the refrigerator would not go below 40 degrees so Im still waiting to have it fixed. Its disappointing when a functional refrigerator gets repaired but something then causes it to no longer function. Hopefully the third time the tech comes out the repair will work.

High hopes for a long life

Submitted by JasonCA - 7/14/2022

After 3 LG refrigerators I hope this one has as long of life as my first LG fridge. My first is still alive and kicking working great and is almost 20 years old. My second didnt last that long. That one broke several times and finally died after about 5 years. This new refrigerator seems much higher quality when it comes to cooling systems. There does not seem to be hot spots in the top or bottom. In the freezer there are not thawed out products like our old one where it hat hot spots. After 2 years now here are the issues we have had 1. The magnetic trim seal started to rip as the material is very thin 2. The door shelves are thin plastic and broke in several places. The plastic cannot hold heavy milk jugs or heavy items. 3. Shelf placement. Maybe just a design flaw but the shelves could have used more configuration points 4. Short warranty. For the price point it should have a longer warranty This was a really expensive fridge so hope it lasts a long time

Best Refrigerator in Most Important Ways w Niggles

Submitted by Johnny NYC - 4/17/2021

So I bought a bunch of the signature LG devices. The range. The fridge. The dishwasher. The air purifier. Overview This fridge is something special in ways all the reviews miss. NOTHING comes close to the cubic capacity of this fridge 31cubic ft is crazy for a fridge that fits in a standard 70 height and 36 width. I can put in a full 24 cans of soda into just a single row on the top shelf. In comparison and over 7 tall and 48 subzero has 29cubic feet. LG just packages their refrigerators way more efficiently than all other brands. The next closest brands for such space density are the Samsungs and then it drops off a cliff. Oh it also looks better and costs half the price of the subzero. Fridge part The door within a door I thought was a gimmick. Its useless on the sub zeros because it makes the low storage space even worse because the glass door on a sub zero has no inner door shelf. The LG door within a door knock-to-view glass has a really deep shelf. So you can easily put in a half gallon of milk and soda but also all your condiments ketchup salad dressings etc. All that messy hard to organize stuff easily fits in there which makes the stuff you put into the regular part of the fridge more easily organized and frankly more of a cool looking presentation. But the sheer really usable space in the fridge part is amazingly good and frankly Ive seen nothing better. NIGGLES. The two things to make it perfect are the deli drawer is the entire width of the fridge so you need to open both doors to really use it it would be great if they split that drawer in 2 halves so you dont have to open both doors. It would be great if one of the lower shelves would collapse backward so you dont have to take it out when you put in a big pot and when you remove the pot you can just extend the shelf back out. Ice maker/water part The ice maker and water are great and compact. The water filter is super easy to change. The air filter in back is a little annoying but not too bad. I love how they made the water/ice unit flush so it doesnt look like an eye sore. The pre-measured settings are cool. NIGGLES. One thing that could be improved is I wish the water dispenser worked like at a fast food restaurant where you could place the water sitting on the stand hit 12oz and walk away letting it fill that amount without having to hold the glass against the lever. Also the water and ice are splashy unless you hold your glass higher up. Freezer The freezer is IMMENSE. Like crazy big and the way the drawers auto extend out of it is border line Disney magic. Really spacious. The freezer part is just so perfect and great I have no niggles at all with it. Reliability So mine was a 2019 non-alexia version and I put in a temperature sensor from Eve in there to monitor the temperature and noticed the temperatures were going up over 50F at times for prolonged periods of time. I called LG got service person there and they had to replace the motherboard and not the compressor. This seemed to fix the issue and my guess is they have upgraded the system since Ive had it. Since then the temperature generally stays where I put it at 37 and it will rise regularly to around 40F-42F for an hour or so every day or 2 my guess is to control for humidity and prevent any frost. The fridge is completely free of frost. Other Niggles. Here are the 2 biggest the refrigerator slightly bows out in the middle and the door hinges do not let you place the fridge flush with your cabinets unless you do some custom work. The refrigerator is not plumb. The edges of the fridge bow out. We built a custom nook so the fridge would be flush with the cabinets. This was NOT easy as the fridge has massively thick doors and the hinge is not well thought out in that the doors would not swing out unless the fridge is NOT flush with the cabinets and needs to extend like 8 out from your cabinets for the doors to open. if they placed the hinge in a different spot you would be able to open the doors and keep the fridge flush with your cabinets and LG should rethink the hinge design. Anyway the surprise is we built a custom space and had 3/8 gap on the sides for the fridge to slide in and it BARELY fit. Up top and bottom there is 3/8 but in the middle body of the fridge it BOWS out and almost touches the sides of the space we have for it. This is really not understandable for a product in this class. Maybe we just have a weird unit and an early model. But do not just go by the stated measurements and go measure a model including its girth at the middle fo the fridge width wise. Its different than at the top and bottom. The good news is this bowing out of the sides is not something your eye really picks up so its not a constant annoyance. But it could be a tragedy if you are trying to fit it into a really tight and/or custom spot. The other thing that LG needs to do is have the display show not just the desired temperature setting but the actual measured temperature and humidity and air quality inside the fridge. There is no reason why I have to buy a 3rd party sensor and put that into the fridge. Finally the UI inside the fridge for setting the temperature and other things are designed by an engineer and are not intuitive. They need to give it to a UI designer to simplify that or make it work off an app on your phone. Another niggle is the glass doors on all their signature products are a bad choice of materials. They are semi mirror and you knock and then you can see in. LG goes to pains to promote how the textured steel is fingerprint resistant and it is. But the knock-to-look glass is a fingerprint magnet Its terrible and near impossible to keep clean. Why would you not address this when you went to such pains to keep the steel fingerprint free. This applies to the range as well. Weird decision in materials. Last niggle has to do with the design. it is gorgeous and I love how it does not have visible handles. But the inset handles collect crumbs and things over time. Its decently easy to clean but perhaps they can make that space designed a little easier to clean out. Moving it in your place is also tough if you have standard size doors. This extra deep model means they have to take the doors off to get the fridge into your place and then put the doors back on inside your place. Its just so darn big it wont get through a standard door otherwise. Conclusion Despite the numerous niggles is there just is nothing that comes close in capacity for the same size. NOTHING. This signature fridge stands alone at 31cubic feet capacity for this standard size and destroys oversized sub zeros. Its amazing. The design aesthetic is just stunning and beautiful with no handles.

Best fridge I have ever owned

We have had the fridge about six months and love it. We had some setup issues with wifi due to the app not being compatible and had to be updated for this model. LG customer rep came over and did a great job solving issue and escalating to their app developers. The fridge is quality built with super strong steel shelves that were recently tested with two large soup pots on same shelf. My only criticisms are that the shelves are not quick to move around and this model number does not show up on LG app or website so I have to call service number to get new things like air or water filter
