Great features Terrible Reliability and Service

We purchased a signature series refrigerator Model LUPXC2386N for our new home in late 2019. Love the features except never been able to connect wifi feature. First issue happened in January 2022 when EFF error code would sporadically flash on the door message screen. We contacted LG customer service and suggested we turn refrigerator off for 20 min and then turn back on. The EFF error code did not resolve. Another call to the appliance store whom we purchased refrigerator and they sent out an authorized third party contracted service provider early Feb 2022. When person arrived Feb 7 2022 he noted never seeing or servicing a refrigerator like this model could be good or bad interpretation. He noted it appeared top rear shelves were not properly cooling and ordered new electronic circuit board. Board was replaced on Feb 18 2022. This did not solve issue. Contacted service provider on Feb 19 2022 for resolution and new ticket was required. New ticket order was sent out on Feb 21 2022. On March 03 2022 contracted service provider returned with new freezer fan installed and EFF code was resolved. The service provided admitted not knowing what the exact problem was. They left us the original circuit board that was originally replaced as noted above and apparently was not the issue. All of this work was fully covered under an extended warranty we purchased from the appliance store where we bought the refrigerator. The refrigerator operated fine for about 3 years up until February 13th 2025.
February 13th 2025: We noticed refrigerator not cooling properly melted ice cream. After multiple phone calls to LG customer service and the appliance store we bought refrigerator from an LG assigned service provider made initial site visit February 19th 2025 offering suggestions turning on/off refrigerator and waiting 24 hrs. After a few days issue not resolved and service provider concluded the linear compressor was bad and needed replacement. Replacement was completed on February 25th 2025 after multiple phone calls regarding the urgency. This required cutting and welding compressor lines which was done in our home. After leaving we noticed soot from welding process in our kitchen counter tops cabinets light fixtures and floor. We contacted the service provider and they stated this is normal and would not pay for a cleaning service. At this point we questioned the competence of the LG assigned service provider. It should be noted the compressor was under LG warranty. However we had to pay $426.92 for labor and our time to clean up our kitchen. Freezer and refrigerator was now operating normally. Fast forward to April 6th 2025.
April 6th 2025 we noticed refrigerator temperature increasing 6 weeks after having compressor replaced as described above. On April 7th 2025 again we contacted the appliance store we purchased refrigerator from and LG customer service. Retailer helped some but eventually would not return our calls. Turned refrigerator on/off multiple times with each time temps coming down. However refrigerator would not stay cool with temps as high as 70F noted and freezer barely below 32F. The communication between LG customer service and previous service provider was a fiasco. Finally on April 24th 2025 LG sends out a LG service technician not third party service provider. LG service technician informs us the compressor replacement was not performed properly. There is a leak in coil and they should have checked this during compressor replacement process. He noted other problems like not cleaning lines and a missing valve gasket/seal. He stated because of these errors the refrigerator cannot be fixed and needs full replacement. He recharged it and indicated this would not last but would give us time to purchase a new refrigerator. We have all detailed notes pertaining to these issues.
So now we have to purchase a new refrigerator because of the incompetence of LGs service provider and LGs poor product. LGs service technician stated they LGs service provider should have never replaced the compressor in our house welding in our kitchen. After realizing this it was most likely a safety issue or even a violation still checking into this. LG will not stand behind this and has offered us a 15 percent discount on purchase of a new refrigerator.
Thanks but no thanks LG.
