Good for small spaces

I had limited space for this appliance so I chose the vent-less apartment size version of the tower. The washing machine half works great. Its small capacity but it fits my king size sheet set or a weeks worth of my clothes so I am happy. The dryer is very slow to dry likely due to the vent-less status. Luckily I hang damp clothes anyway Towels and sheets take a while to dry to completion and that can be a nuisance at times. The unit is fine for me but not for a family.

Dryer Takes over 3 Hours to Dry - Even Light Loads

In May of 2026 we purchased an LG WashTower electric/ventless dryer unit for the vacation home we were remodeling. Because of construction delays it was not installed until November and it wasnt until the holidays that the unit was first used. Immediately we noticed how that the dryer took a long time 3-4 hours to dry a single small load of clothing. A small load of towels 2 bath + 2 washcloths took over 4 hours. In February we visited the home again and tried all of the suggested maintenance and troubleshooting tricks - and finally contacted the vender who told us that we needed to work with LG. After 3 months of lengthy phone calls and 2 service calls we received a text from LG stating that the dryer is working normally and they would not exchange it for a vented model as we had requested. There is nothing in the product description that mentions that a single load of laundry will take over 4 hours to complete. In fact the LG site states: the Single Unit LG WashTower with Center Control is designed to handle large laundry loads efficiently. Either negative reviews concerning dry time are being deleted or we have a faulty unit. We have lost all faith in LG products and customer service.

Given some of the reviews I was tempted to get 2 stack units but the overall look and slightly smaller height of this unit won me over. I was replacing 2 14 Y/O Miele units washer still worked perfectly but dryer needed a repair. I like the idea of a washtower and as I said they are great looking but dont know if having 2 units is a better idea or not when a repair is needed. We have had it for 4 months now the delivery and installation went smoothly. We are very impressed with the unit. Everything looks/feels like nice quality and it does a great job of washing and drying. It is quiet and no vibration on spin cycle partly because it is one unit and is not shaking around a separate dryer on top. The old Miele was a condenser dryer and often when I opened the door and pulled out a garment it was almost was too hot to handle which cant be good for the clothes. It also required cleaning the condenser occasionally which is a bit of a job.The heat pump seems far more gentle and I think it dries very well. I echo the complaints here that say the readout indicates another hour to dry but the clothes are already dry. The capacity is quite generous an upgrade from the Miele unit. And it sends me a text when the cycle is done. Overall a hard working and modern addition.

All day to dry sheets

This would be fine and I would not mind it taking a bit longer but it takes all day to dry one set of sheets. After the 3.5 hour If you have company stay over as we often do this makes it impossible to manage.beds g setting they are needing to be spread out readjusted and put on to the hugest setting to dry. My guests have been astounded as they often put them on to be helpful. We head out for the day and come home to wet sheets.

Newer Ventless Technology

Ive had this unit for a year now and can attest to its reliability and performance. My condo has a small laundry closet and this is the only front-loading LG model that would fit. It is quiet and most of my laundry comes out clean and ready for the dryer. I find that the dryer actually works comparably to a vented dryer and it is easier on my clothes. My condo association discourages ventless dryers because of its prior experiences with water damage from leaks into other units which are not as much of an issue with the newer ventless technology. I love that I dont have to worry about pulling the unit out of the closet to periodically clean the dryer vent. My only issue is that sometimes laundry will come out with dry streaks indicating that the wash cycle was somehow not fully soaked the garments even when stacked in the drum according to the manual. Otherwise I would have happily given it 5 stars.

Defective Unit and No Real Support from LG

BE AWARE I bought this unit on 11/28 and it was delivered on 12/04. After only two wash and dry cycles the dryer started failing and showed a drn error about six to seven minutes into every drying cycle. Both the installer and an LG repair technician confirmed the unit is faulty. The worst part has been the customer support experience. I spent hours on the phone starting 12/05 and could not get a reasonable solution. I was bounced back and forth between departments with nobody willing to take responsibility or help replace a clearly defective unit. For a brand new machine at this price point this is completely unacceptable. Avoid this product unless you want to deal with endless errors and customer service that offers no real support.

Great unit. Had some trepidation about buying it because of all the negative reviews but my wife and Is experience has been exceptional. Yes its a heat pump dryer and takes longer than a vented unit but thats not an issue for us. The unit is very quiet and plays a pleasant melody instead of a blaring buzzer when the washer or dryer is done. Ive only had it a week so cant comment on reliability but so far so good.

Good features poor execution

The washer works quite well although the controls are difficult to understand. You must use the LG Thinq smartphone app to get basic things like spin-only a necessity as Ill explain. Sometimes the washer fails to completely pump out at the end and leaves the laundry sitting in a pool of water. Thats when the spin cycle is needed. The dryer is even more difficult to use. I cannot figure out how to do timed drying. It always rejects the More time and Less time button pushes. To maintain the dryer you must regularly wash the inner first filter and occasionally wash the outer second filter. I expect the inner filter to last maybe 2 years and a new one costs about $50. The drying time runs over an hour but the energy usage is much lower typically 650 to 1000 kWh. However much of that time and energy is wasted when you get large items like sheets. The dryer rolls them up into a log that never dries in the center. I suspect that it rotates too fast. I also suspect that LG could download new software to slow it down and stop this. It is VERY annoying to have to go back and unroll our laundry every 10 minutes.

However the touch controls can be unresponsive or tricky to use especially Contol Lock button which detracts from its overall ease of use. Ideal for small spaces but less suited for larger families. I have been using it for few months it is also quite economical in terms of electricity consumption making it a practical choice for everyday laundry needs.

Horrible Hammering Spin Cycle

Ive been living with this unit for a week and a half after purchasing it directly from LGs website. Before making the purchase I did my homework: I read all the reviews I could find consulted with a Best Buy associate who recommended it and even checked Consumer Reports though they havent reviewed this model yet. First the positives: the unit is sleek attractive and contrary to some negative reviews about its drying ability Ive been very impressed in this area. However my main issue is the hammering noise it makes during the spin cycle which lasts for about 1520 minutes. I live in an 800 sq. ft. 100-year-old house and theres no escaping the noiseits miserable to be in the house when the washer is spinning. Im unsure if I received a defective unit but in researching this issue online Ive found that this seems to be a common problem with LGs front-loading washing machines. I have tried to reach out to LG about exchanging it to see if I just got a bad unit but theyve been largely unresponsive and unhelpful.

If I could give negative stars I would. DO NOT BUY Broken out of the box We tried calling customer service several times only to be disconnected. They want to charge you to have a repair person come. Purchased from Home Depot and they said they cant help us. Customer service told us that it was installed incorrectly which it wasnt. We have a Technician coming to look at it December 2nd lets see what happens.

After 3 loads of laundry dryer stopped working. LG agreed to send an appliance repair technician who found no issues with power installation or anything else. 4 loads later same problem. LG is blaming faulty installation and disconnected me 3 times when I called customer service. Appliance is 2 weeks old. What a nightmare.

Purchased this washtower in May 2024. Dryer flooded 5 months after install. Repairman said faulty factory construction led to hoses breaking loose and flooding heat pump. He ordered new parts. Six weeks later parts on back order and no eta to fix. Im stuck using laundry mat with no repair in sight. LG customer service no help. LG wont replace faulty wash tower or help expedite parts. Will never buy LG product again.

I reached out to support day 1 to ensure that the delivery company would have a proper COI as my building requires it. LG support was unable to contact the delivery company but gave me a number to reach. I left a text voicemail and called several times but no one answers. Delivery day comes and whoever they contracted the delivery to doesnt have a COI. I reject the delivery and get a notice later in the day that my delivery is complete. ?? Now Im dealing with LG support Paypal and the credit card company to refund my money.

There is one major flaw with this product - drying time 3 pairs of sockets and one small hand towel takes 2 hours to dry completely The rest of the machine seems quick adequate. But the drying time is a killer. I wish I bought a vented dryer. This is yet another typical energy conservation dismay giving up functionality for conservation just like electric cars being limited to 300 miles and electric stoves replacing gas stoves. Dont fall for the propaganda. To LG should they respond: Does the condensate reservoir in the dryer have a water pump to pump the condensate out? Or is it gravity fed to the external drain?

I was nervous about buying this machine because it had terrible reviews. But this has become the workhorse of our home we do most of our day-to-day loads in this machine and save our bigger loads for our larger washtower. Its super efficient although as people mention drying takes longer than a normal dryer Id estimate it takes 2x. One star dinged because this is the only washtower you cant turn off the chime on. You can change the chime via the app to any number of sounds. But turning it off is a no-go truly silly given the drying cycles take longer and so youre more likely to run them overnight.

DO NOT ORDER THIS I ordered this over a month ago. It took two weeks to get delivery. The inept third party delivery company gave a 12 hour delivery window. They showed up at literally the 11th hour and asked me who I was going to hire to install the washer tower. They told me they dont know how to install them and didnt know how to remove the older washer and dryer either. They took the product with them. It took me over two weeks calling the third party and LG almost daily to figure out LG SHIPPED THE THIRD PARTY THE WRONG ITEM They told me they couldnt ship out the correct unit until the third party returned LGs error. Then the LG team could investigate what they did wrong and only then would they hopefully ship out the correct item. The timeframe I was given was an additional 2-4 weeks to get the product. After spending roughly 20 hours on the phone over a months time I asked for a refund. I was promised a call the next day from the refund team. Its been a week. No one has called me. They still have thousands of dollars of mine. Not once has LG or their third party been proactive in this debacle. Every single time I have had to call to initiate action. Do not waster your time energy or mental health buying from this company
